INTRODUCTION
Carbonate Platform of the E6 field of Central Luconia has been appraised to be a gas reservoir with oil rim.
AREA OF STUDY
However, limited knowledge of the reservoir may be the setback from it being developed. Thus, this study
focuses on the petrographic studies of the thin section samples along with well data of E6-2 well and seismic
data in the effort of establishing a better understanding of the reservoir distributions through its depositional
environments.
METHODOLOGY
1. Petrographic Study 2. Facies Identifications 3. Petrophysical Logs 4. Seismic Study 5. Facies Correlations
and Core Data Study
- A microfacies analysis - Facies will be built based - The sequence boundaries - Facies identified will be
on thin section sampled of on the petrographic studies - The porosity and present will be noted in the used to fit both wells
from the E6-2 and E6-3 findings. Naming of the permeability data will be effort of establishing the descriptions. Together with
wells from the depths of facies will encompass its used in the tight layer architecture of the E6 seismic data, correlations
5840.5 m to 6347.5 m and texture and its identification complementing platform as well for its between the E6-2 and E6-3
5568.5 m to 5948.3 m. petrographical contents. the Petrographic Studies stratigraphy sequences. wells will be commenced.

CONCLUSION
The depositional environment of the E6-2
well is at the Backreef of the E6 carbonate
platform. However, petrographic changes
observed indicate that the depositional
conditions had changed thoughout time
with respect to the relative sea level and its
proximal distance from the carbonate rim.
WAY FORWARD
Integrate the data and findings between the
