Project 2018 3

The document outlines two final projects for a practical design course. Project 1 involves building structural concrete elements as shown in images and creating drawings with specific requirements such as wall thicknesses, slab extensions, and material properties. Project 2 involves rehabilitating a three-story building exposed to risk by determining materials needed using a detailed building plan. Both projects require deliverables in .rvt and MS Word files.

Course Name and Code Practical Design of Engineering Application

Title Final Project

Start Date Nov 23, 2018

Delivery Date Dec 10,2018

Project1:
To fulfill the requirements of practical Design of engineering applications you are requested to:

 Build the structural concrete elements as per the appropriate data and as shown in
the attached images .
 Create and Manage layouts of drawings.
 The following conditions are to be considered as follows:

1. The building consists of the stories building which shown bellow, .

2. The wall foundations are 400 mm thickness.
3. The floor foundations are 265 mm thickness.
4. The slab foundation is 400 mm thick and extends 700 mm beyond columns.
5. Use Concrete shear walls, retaining walls as required .
6. All concrete elements have a 25 M.Pa compression resistance and are the same
material.
7. All roofs are Basic Roof Generic with total thickness of 400 mm.
8. Beams are rectangular concrete with dimensions Defined by the student.
9. Columns are round concrete with dimensions Defined by the student.
10. All projects are to be delivered using a CD-ROM consisting of one file
representing the .rvt project file and another MS-word file as a title page
consists of the student name and Id, with date and the project description.
Project2:
Rehabilitate a building:

Suppose the buildimg showing bellow is exposed to external risk,

the building consists of three stories of area 1800m (90*20)
evaluate the internal length, determine the material you need to
rehabilitate
Use the detailed buildingshowing in the plans to repair this
building
Use one of the methods available to you, such as using direct
measurements or imagining sections that need restoration .
