unit/page noun, verb, adjective) teacher
MST Mr. Atkinson School RAK Academy (BC)

Class 5 Date November 3, 2018, 9:00 p.m.

Overall aim and context of the lesson

In this lesson the students were able to:

 Recognize and identify basic parts of speech: preposition, noun, verb, adjective through a
simple game.

 Successfully recognize and identify four basic parts of speech as identified by a game.

Select (S):

This lesson is in the literacy class. It’s explaining how identify basic parts of speech: preposition,
noun, verb, adjective through a simple game.

Describe (D):

This lesson for year five students to teach them how to identify basic parts of speech such as
preposition, noun, verb, adjective. It was in grade five literacy class in the school. In this lesson, the
students think about how to identify basic parts of speech such as preposition, noun, verb,
adjective.

Analyze (A):
I think the students responded with the way that they did because they understood all the
instructions of the activities and the goals of the lesson. I have engaged their understanding
through asking students to define Nouns: person, place, thing, or idea; Verbs: action words;
Prepositions: a word that shows relation to another word; Adjective: descriptive word.
Appraise (A):

There was no experiment in this lesson, but the I tasted the students understanding through give
them a BINGO card and have students fill in each square with either (noun, verb, preposition, or
adjective), and they presented and explained to whole class.

I believe that this lesson meets my teaching goals, because the students understood well the
concept of the lesson and they have a lot of information and experiences about it and I saw that
during their discussions and writing in BINGO card.

Transform (T):

In the future I will enhance student learning of this lesson through using other ideas to refresh their
thinking more. For example, at the begging of the class I will present some videos that talking about
the parts of speech or give them some examples of words and ask them to select which of them is
a part of speech. The implications for my professional practice are it can improve my skills more
and achieve my teaching goals during the semester.
