OBJECTIVES: Main Lesson Aims (Concepts, Procedures, & Processes):


By the end of the Lesson the Student will be able to:
1. Students will be able to identify the five types of nutrients which are nutrient, proteins,
carbohydrate, vitamins, minerals, fats and oils.
2. Students will be able to classify different foods depending on what nutrients they contain.

• The teacher shows a variety of examples such as videos and pictures to explain what kind
of nutrients in different foods.

Engage (warm up, review prior knowledge): time:

- The teacher started the lesson by a quick review for last lesson about the five
group of foods which are grains, protein, dairy, fruits, vegetables.
 The teacher will start the lesson by asking the students some questions:

o Why do we need food? what the things that give food the importance?

o Students explain why food is important first make them raise their hand to
answer.
- The teacher will open the PowerPoint on the name of the lesson with a picture.
then she will read the title.
- The teacher will tell our lesson related to the last lesson.
- The teacher will start the lesson by show to the students a two burger sandwiches.
- One of them will cook by healthy way the other one will be unhealthy way.
- But first the teacher will ask the students the burger is healthy or not.
- The students will explain their answer.
- Then the teacher told them depend how you will make the burger and she will
show them the different between the sandwiches.

Core (introduce and practice new concepts & procedures:


- The teacher will start the explain the PowerPoint.
- The will read the new vocabulary they will learn it with Arabic meaning.
- The teacher will ask the students What are the nutrients your body need?
- When the students answer they have to explain their answer to know the teacher if
the students understand.
- The teacher shows the five types of nutrients which are: carbohydrates, proteins, fats and oils,
vitamins, minerals. 20-25
minutes.
- The teacher will show to the student a short cartoon video related to the types of
nutrients.
- The teacher gives the students the instructions for the activity where they work
individual, they will sort the picture and put it in the right place. And remind them
about the gift who finish and work quietly.
- The teacher will show them a model of her worksheet how she does it.
- The students will do their worksheet.
- They will cut and glue the pictures of food.
- The teacher will walk around the groups to see how the students work.
- The student who finish first and sit quietly they will get points from ClassDojo.

Close (wrap up, discussion, brief review activity or assessment) 10 Minutes

- The teacher will ask the students some questions to make sure the students
understand what the learn today.
- If there is the time the teacher will ask the students to make their own sandwich,
but the sandwich has been healthy
