Civil Engineering Orientation

CE ORIENTATION

Activity:

1. With previous discussion on the history and background of civil engineering what other structures you can
consider which you think have a remarkable connotation in terms of infrastructure development of the
country? Why did you say so? Provide illustrations (photos) of chosen structures.

 National and Domestic/Agricultural roads/highways


 Because of the development of the roads, especially in agricultural/domestic roads, the harvest
of all the farmers from the provinces were easily transported where in it had been a great help
in the transportation as well as with the farmers and residents of the provinces.

2. Write a paragraph about a great engineer. Please turn in as printed page at the beginning of the next class.

 Marcial Kasilag was the first Filipino engineer who is also the first president of the PICE or
Philippine Institute of Civil Engineering. He studied and earned his degree in
