especially Evelyn Varrin, Pat Curry and Barry Konyk.
PRAYERS FOR THE SICK AND SHUT-IN: “Let us raise up in prayer those who seek God’s
healing love, those at the hospital, hospice and at home”. We pray especially for Gary Cybulski,
Kay Kasaboski and Gladys McNulty. May your struggle be consoled by Christ’s love“.
PRIESTS’ RETREAT: The annual gathering of our priests of the diocese for their retreat will
take place from Oct. 17th to 21st. Please note that there will not be daily Mass during that time.
WORLD MISSION SUNDAY: Next Week is World Mission Sunday. Every parish across
the world will celebrate World Mission Sunday next week. It is a global sign of the
Universal Church and mission. Your prayers and donations will help support
churches, hospitals, schools and vocations in countries where the Church is beginning,
where it is new. World Mission Sunday is our chance to assist Catholic Communities
throughout the world become self sufficient and flourish. By sharing the gift of faith
we can bring hope and love to those who need it most.
WOMEN OF BETHANY
What is Women of Bethany? - The Women of Bethany exists in order to offer women a place of hope,
refreshment and renewal. This is done through the ministries of prayer, music, hospitality and teaching.
This year our theme is: Isaiah 43:1 “I have called you by name, you are Mine.”
Our guest speaker is Johnnette Benkovic – founder and President of Living His Life Abundantly, a Catholic
evangelization apostolate with outreaches in T.V., radio, print and internet communications. She is also founder
of Women of Grace, a Catholic apostolate for Christian women that features a number of outreaches including
conferences, curricula, study groups and more.
As Jesus was refreshed by visiting Bethany, we would like to invite women to enjoy a Bethany experience as we
celebrate our 17th Women of Bethany Retreat. Please join us and be renewed in spirit, body, mind and soul. We
look forward to sharing the experience with you.
The Music Ministry Tour – Music Director Julie Larocque is once again touring several parishes in the
Ottawa region to promote the upcoming retreat weekend. She will sing a half hour of Praise & Worship music
before Mass that would be typically sung at our retreat. Julie will be at St. Francis Xavier Parish on
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30TH at 4:30 p.m. Come early and enjoy!
