5. Instructional Objective:
Students will know how to count to 100 by 1’s and 10’s and will demonstrate that by
counting orally and filling in missing numbers on a 100s chart.

6. Instructional Procedures:
Before: Engage students in a counting activity. Count by 1’s to 100, having students
do something different every 10 numbers. Ask students to share with a partner
what it means to count forward. Gather several answers. Next, show Jack Hartman’s
Lets Get Fit, counting by 10’s video.
During: Break out into 10 minutes math rotations. Group 1 – Practice Number ID
and 100s Chart Dice Game; Group 2 – iPads; Group 3 – individual worksheets; Group
4 – Collaborative Number Game.

7. Assessment:
Assess students on their ability to count orally to 100 and their ability to fill in a
100s chart by counting forward. Students will circle multiples of 10s.

8. Differentiated Instruction:
Use different 100s charts during small group; blank, partially filled in, and filled in
completely.
