SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATE

Qualification Title COMPUTER SYSTEMS SERVICING NC II

COC 1 Title INSTALL AND CONFIGURE COMPUTER SYSTEMS

Time Allotted 3 Hours

1. Given the necessary components, testing instruments, tools and equipment, you
are required to install and configure computer systems in two (3) hours based on
the following tasks:

A Disassemble and Assemble Computer Hardware

Given a functional PC unit, tools, and equipment disassemble the


component parts and list the parts, including the capacity and brand name.
Then, assemble again the computer component parts carefully so as not to
damage any.

Duration: 1 hour

B Configure the UEFI and test the assembled unit to check whether it will
boot or not.

Duration: 30 min.

C Prepare the Installers

C.1 Create a bootable USB flash drive.


C.2 Prepare the drivers for installation
C.3 Prepare the application software for installation

Duration: 20 min.

E. Install Application Softwares


E.1. Install MS Office (WPS MS Word, MS Excel, etc.) E.2 Install Utilities (anti-
virus)
Duration: 30 min
2. The Assessment shall be based on the unit of competency in the Training
Regulations and the Evidence Plan, and shall focus on the evidence gathering
methods.
 Demonstration/Observation with Oral questioning
 Portfolio Assessment with Interview
3. The final assessment shall be the responsibility of your Accredited Assessor.
4. At the end of the assessment, your assessor shall provide feedback on the
assessment result. The feedback shall indicate whether you are:

Qualification Title COMPUTER SYSTEMS SERVICING NC II

COC 2 Title SET UP COMPUTER NETWORKS

Time Allotted 3 Hours


1. Given the necessary components, testing instruments, tools and equipment,
you are required to set up computer networks in two and a half (3 ) hours
based on the following tasks:

A. Perform network cabling management/arrangement


Duration: 30 min.

B. Perform network cable splicing (straight cable) – at most 16 pieces RJ45


Duration: 30 min.

E. Set up internet connection sharing


Duration: 10 min

F. Set up wireless access point


Duration: 30 min.

2. The Assessment shall be based on the unit of competency in the Training


Regulations and the Evidence Plan, and shall focus on the evidence
gathering methods:

 Demonstration/Observation with Oral questioning


 Portfolio Assessment with Interview

3. The final assessment shall be the responsibility of your Accredited Assessor.

4. At the end of the assessment, your assessor shall provide feedback


on the assessment result. The feedback shall indicate whether you
are:

□ Competent □ Not yet competent

COC 3 Title SET UP COMPUTER SERVERS

Time Allotted 1.5 Hours

1. Given the necessary materials, testing instruments, tools and equipment,


you are required to set up and test computer servers in one and a half (3)
hours based on the following tasks:

B.1 Install and Configure Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)

Duration: 30 min.

C. Remote Desktop

Duration: 30 min.

E. Perform Testing of Networks and Documentation

Duration: 10 min.

2. The Assessment shall be based on the unit of competency in the Training


Regulations and the Evidence Plan, and shall focus on the evidence gathering
methods:

COC 4 Title MAINTAIN AND REPAIR COMPUTER SYSTEMS AND


NETWORKS

Time Allotted 1 Hour


1. Given the necessary components, testing instruments, tools and equipment,
you are required to perform the maintenance and repair of computer systems
and networks in one (1) hour based on the following tasks.

A. Maintain and Repair Computer Systems and Networks

A.3 Perform preventive and corrective maintenance


Duration: 30 min.

A.4 Create backup or system image


Duration: 20 min.

A.5 Restore backup or system image


Duration: 30 min.

2. The Assessment shall be based on the unit of competency in the Training


Regulations and the Evidence Plan, and shall focus on the evidence
gathering methods:

 Demonstration/Observation with Oral questioning


 Portfolio Assessment with Interview

3. The final assessment shall be the responsibility of your Accredited Assessor.

4. At the end of the assessment, your assessor shall provide feedback on


the assessment result. The feedback shall indicate whether you are:
