We Bring Intelligence To The Table.: Ultra-Cut XT

The document discusses plasma cutting processes and technologies. It describes how plasma cutting works by using plasma as an electrode to transfer an electrical arc to the workpiece and melt the metal. It then discusses different plasma cutting systems for precision, general purpose, and air plasma cutting and their advantages.

Plasma is a gas heated to an extremely high temperature and ionized so

that it becomes electrically

conductive. Plasma arc cutting uses the plasma as an electrode to
transfer an electrical arc to the
work piece.
The heat of the arc melts the work piece and the force of the plasma and shield
gases blow away the molten metal
to cut the work piece. Different metals react differently to plasma cutting. Carbon
steel can be oxidized, and is
usually cut with a plasma containing oxygen to take advantage of the exothermic
process. Higher levels of oxygen
in the plasma result in higher heat and higher rates of oxidation. The result is a
faster and cleaner cut.
Stainless steel and aluminium are not subject to rapid oxidation and depend
entirely on the plasma’s heat for the
cutting process. Because plasma produces much higher heat than the oxygen-fuel
cutting process, plasma can
cut stainless steel and aluminium quickly and cleanly.

Thermal Dynamics ®

XT-TORCH

Our best torch features the SpeedLok

cartridge, enabling a consumable

change in less than 60 seconds and

reducing downtime between cuts. Our

XTremeLife™ consumables last longer,

but it’s good to know that when you need

to change them, you can do it quickly.

AUTO GAS CONSOLE

Our Auto Gas Console delivers the right gases and right pressures at the right time. By providing

auto adjustments, you eliminate the need for manual intervention or operator recall of the

correct pressure setting. The DPC3000 improves cut quality and reduces change-over time.

ULTRA-CUT™ XT

Our series of high-precision plasma cutters

will meet or beat anyone’s performance on mild

steel, and is superior on non-ferrous. And our

HeavyCut™ consumables deliver the best cut

quality and parts life on thick materials.
