To recognize that our spelling words rhyme.
Prior Knowledge: What knowledge are you building on?
The students will be able to know how to read, write, and identify the "ap" sounds
words.
To recognize that our spelling words rhyme.
Lap- map- tap- gap- nap- cap..
Lesson Objectives: These must be SMART objectives – specific, measurable,
achievable, relevant, time bound
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to know how to read the words with
"ap" sound: (map, cap, tap, gap, nap, lap), how to write some words with "ap"
sound, and memorize words end with "ap".
Students will learn new words with "ap" sound.
Students will learn the "ap" spelling and sound.
Lesson Activities: What will students do in the lesson?
First: teacher will set with the students on the carpet together. Teacher will ask
students to set in pairs and she will give each pair a small board with marker.
Teacher will say one word with "ap" sound, and write it on her board, and then she
will ask the students to say it, Stretch it and cut it. For example: (map), students will
say it 'map', then stretch it 'maaap', then cut it 'm a p'. Next, teacher will say
another word with "ap" sound and ask students to say it, Stretch it and cut it in pairs,
then write it on their boards. Teacher will check with them if they write it correctly.
Teacher will ask them to do two or three more words will "ap" sound.
Activity 1: teacher will ask students to set in their groups and she will give them
worksheet activity (the activity will be about phonics, they will fill the missing word
in each the sentence and then will write their own sentences with "ap" sound).
Teacher will display the worksheet on the projector and solve it with them one by
one (students will write the answers in their worksheet. Then the teacher will ask
students to write their own sentences.
Activity 2: after they finish the first activity (If there is time) the teacher will give
students another worksheet activity, she will ask them to match the letters with the
right picture, and then right the words. Students will cut and stick the words on the
right box in the worksheet, and then they will write the words.
Evaluation / Assessment: How will you know your students have achieved the goal?
Ask questions / observation / small groups activities.
