ii) a) Draw a first order high-pass filter circuit using an operational amplifier.
b) Derive the transfer function and low cut-off frequency for the filter.
c) Draw frequency response of the filter. (06 marks)
iii) Design a first order band-pass filter having pass band of 1 to 2 kHz and the gain of
10 using the above low-pass and high-pass filters. (06 marks)
iv) Design a first order band-reject filter having stop band of 1 to 2 kHz and the gain of
10 using the above low-pass and high-pass filters. (07 marks)

02. (i) (a) Draw a first order band-pass filter circuit using an operational amplifier (open
loop gain is 105 and open loop bandwidth is 10 Hz). (04 marks)

03. A filter circuit produces following transfer function.

Where R, C and Ao are resistance of the resistors, capacitance of the capacitors and gain
(1+ R2/R1) of the filter respectively. R1 and R2 are input and feedback resistors of the
amplifier.
i) Determine the order and type of the filter. (06 marks)
ii) Determine expressions for fc and Q for the filter. (06 marks)
iii) Draw a circuit diagram of the filter. (05 marks)
iv) Design a filter circuit having fc of 2 kHz and Butterworth response using equal
components. (08 marks)

i) Derive the transfer function for the filter. (12 marks)
ii) Determine the dc voltage gain (Ao), notch frequency (fo) and Q factor of the filter.
