02. (i) (a) Draw a first order band-pass filter circuit using an operational amplifier (open
loop gain is 105 and open loop bandwidth is 10 Hz). (04 marks)
(b) Derive the transfer function and cut-off frequencies for above first order band-
pass filter. (05 marks)
(c) Explain and draw the frequency response of the transfer function. (04 marks)
(ii) If R1 = 10 k, Rf = 100 k, C1= (1/2) F and Cf = (10/2) pF,
(a) Calculate the lower cut-off frequency (f1). (02 marks)
(b) What is the frequency range that the filter can be used as a true differentiator?

03. A filter circuit produces following transfer function.

Where R, C and Ao are resistance of the resistors, capacitance of the capacitors and gain
(1+ R2/R1) of the filter respectively. R1 and R2 are input and feedback resistors of the
amplifier.
i) Determine the order and type of the filter. (06 marks)
ii) Determine expressions for fc and Q for the filter. (06 marks)
iii) Draw a circuit diagram of the filter. (05 marks)
iv) Design a filter circuit having fc of 2 kHz and Butterworth response using equal
components. (08 marks)
04. A circuit diagram of a second order twin-T notch filter is shown in figure.
i) Derive the transfer function for the filter. (12 marks)
ii) Determine the dc voltage gain (Ao), notch frequency (fo) and Q factor of the filter.

iii) State the stability condition of the filter. (02 marks)
iv) If R = 10 k, C= 1/ F, R1 = 10 k and Rf = 9 k, calculate Ao, fo and Q for the
