Lesson 8 Perdev

Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize one's own emotions and understand how they affect others. It involves understanding how others feel to manage relationships effectively. Daniel Goleman identified five elements of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. Developing emotional intelligence involves observing your reactions, examining your work environment and stressful situations, doing self-evaluations, taking responsibility, and considering how your reactions impact others. Children with stronger social and emotional skills have better self-esteem, social interactions, and academic achievement. Fostering compassion, empathy and confidence in children can help them manage difficult emotions.
