B) TRAINING DESCRIPTION & OUTLINE


TRAINING DESCRIPTION
Structured cabling is building or campus telecommunications cabling infrastructure that
consists of number of standardized smaller elements called subsystems. These sub-system is
very critical in installing Structured Cabling Infrastructure as this is the basis of checking for
Industry-standard implementation.

Structured cabling design and installation is governed by a set of standards that specify
wiring data centers, offices, and apartment buildings for data or voice communications using
various kinds of cables, most common categories are CAT-5e, CAT-6, CAT6A and fiber optic.
These standards define how to lay the cabling in various topologies in order to meet the
needs of the customer, typically using a central patch panel (which is normally 19 inch rack-
mounted), from where each modular connection can be used as needed.

Standards will be explained thoroughly as these are critical when you install cables. During
the hands-on exercises, the instructor will teach you how to analyze the floor plan, plan and
execute the installation, proper way of installing & the phasing of the project in order to
achieve good output and of course the final testing and client walk-through.
