RE0F10D CVT

2015-2016 ALTIMA
CVT SUB-ASSEMBLY
REPAIR
A bulletin is now available with a service procedure
to replace the belt and pulley “sub-assembly” of the
2015-2016 Altima when P0776 is stored: NTB16-110
Under certain diagnostic conditions, this procedure
provides the instructions for specific internal repairs
of the RE0F10D CVT, instead of replacing a complete
assembly.
The bulletin contains critical information and details
necessary to successfully complete this internal
repair.
• It is recommended that the bulletin be read through
completely before starting the repair.
• When performing the procedures it is important not
to take any shortcuts.

NOTE:
Dirty and/or corroded
CVT cases should first
get a detailed cleaning
before being removed
from the vehicle.

This will aid in maintain-


ing a clean environment
for the CVT when it is
disassembled.

• After a thorough cleaning,
rust penetrant should be
applied to the dowel pins
and allowed to loosen any
corrosion that may be
present.

• It is important that all

holes be thoroughly cleaned
before reassembly of the
CVT.

CVT sub-assembly repairs must be per-
formed by a certified Nissan CVT
Specialist before they can be claimed
for payment under warranty. It is re-
quired that these technicians be spe-
cifically trained and qualified by Nissan
with the completion of the following
courses, before performing a CVT
sub-assembly
replacement:

• Automatic Transmission Diagnosis


and Unit Repair
(ATTC9915B-ILT)
• CVT Operation, Diagnosis and Re-
pair eLearning
(ATTC9905A-OLT)
• CVT Field Repair, (ATTC2016-ILT)

After completing the sub-assembly
and/or valve body replacement it is
important to perform the following
additional services:

a. Install Write IP Characteristics to the


TCM.
b. Perform Clutch Point Learn.
c. Perform Select Learn.
