About the Choir

Davis Chamber Choir, founded in 2011, is a small student-run mixed vocal

ensemble that operates as a club at UC Davis. We strive to perform challenging
and innovative repertoire at a high level of technical and stylistic execution,

The Battle of Jericho (USA) – Traditional Spiritual, arr. Moses Hogan (1957-2003)
Gitanjali Chants (Bangladesh) – Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), music by Craig Hella

A wordless vocal dance, celebrating the human voice and the joy of singing Soloists: Mira Huang and Ashley Arias
together - this goes beyond vocal jazz into the realm of sound painting. Unlike
most vocal jazz, the syllables used are virtually all open vowel sounds. Arranged by our very own Steven Ilagan, this choral arrangement of the hit song
from La La Land evokes the stirring beauty embedded in the words.
