    Discussion

    During field investigation, 50m area is divided into 6 stations. There is difference in stages of
    succession in the various stations where data is collected which are primary and secondary
    succession. Primary succession begins in a lifeless area where soil has not yet formed.
    Secondary succession is succession that follows primary succession, for example the
    environment that already contains life. It occurs when an environment has been disturbed.
    This form of succession often begins in an abandoned field with soil layers already in place.
    Number of plants available for each station is varies within 2m radius and average height of
    dominant vegetation is increasing along with increase of stations, from station 1 to station 6.

    The final stage of succession of ecological succession is known as a climax community in


    which taller trees begin to grow. They in turn, block out the sunlight needed by smaller trees
    and replace them. The station that is closest to the climax community is station 6 as that area
    has a tree which is 1.3m where as the other station do not have tree at all. A relatively stable
    ecosystem characterized by large, old trees that marks the last stage of ecological succession.
    Besides that, station 6 has the greatest complexity and variety of plant species including
    narrow-leaf plants, herbs under and over 50cm tall, and trees which in large amount
    compared to the other station.
    CONCLUSION

    In conclusion, there is abundance of species diversity in selected area. 3 types of plants


    covered in station 1 which are narrow-leaf plants, herbs under 50cm tall and shrubs and
    station 2 including narrow-leaf plants, herbs under and over 50cm tall. In station 3,4,5 and 6
    have 4 types of plants which are narrow-leaf plants, herbs under and over 50cm tall and
    shrubs in station 3,4,5 whereas in station has a tree except shrubs. Additionally, two different
    stages of succession in these areas are examined, primary and secondary succession. Average
    height of dominant vegetation in station 1, 2 and 4 are covered with plants which under 50cm
    tall whereas for station 3, 5, 6 are covered with plants over 50cm tall.
