Edexcel GCSE German

Core Vocab List

Info & Instructions

This is the minimum core vocabulary as specified by the exam board. They use
this vocab as a basis when they set the listening and reading exams. There may
well be words not in this list, but if you are confident with everything in this book
then you are guaranteed to do well in the exams.

Only the German is given in this booklet and it is your job to fill in the English. You
will need a dictionary at least as big as we use in class.

As you are going through the lists, there will be lots of words you know. By all
means write these in if you are 100% sure. Use a pencil throughout so it’s easy to
change things later if needed.

In order to make sure you know all of the words, you will regularly need to spend
time looking through the booklet and preferably get someone else to test you.
This is on top of any learning homeworks or vocab tests your teacher may set you.

Look after this booklet. Considerable time and effort has gone into printing it and
you will be expected to buy a new one should you lose or deface it.
