RESOLUTION No. 2018-________

A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING
THE GRANT OF GCTA AND TASTM
TO QUALIFIED PDL IN CALAPAN CITY JAIL FOR THE MONTH OF
___SEPTEMBER__2018_____________

WHEREAS, the Jail Bureau, under the Implementing Rules and Regulation of
Republic Act No. 10592, is mandated to assess, evaluate and grant time allowances to
deserving inmates through the creation of Management, Screening, and Evaluation
Committee (MSEC);

WHEREAS, the MSEC, after due consideration of the behavior or conduct

shown by inmates shall recommend the appropriate Good Conduct Time Allowance
(GCTA) to be credited in favor of qualified inmates;

WHEREAS, such grant GCTA is pursuant to Section 3 of Republic Act No.

10592 which provides, thus:

“The good conduct of the offender qualified for credit

for preventive imprisonment pursuant to Article 29 of
this code, or any convicted prisoner is any penal
institution rehabilitation or detention center or any
other local jail shall entitle him to xxx deductions from
the period of his sentence.”

WHEREAS, the MSEC, after due consideration of the time spent by inmates
during their period of imprisonment on studying, teaching, or mentoring, shall
recommend to the appropriate official additional corresponding. Time Allowance for
Studying, Teaching, and Mentoring (TASTM) in favor of qualified inmates;

 “At any time during the period of imprisonment, shall
be allowed another deduction of fifteen days, xxx, for
each month of study, teaching or mentoring service
time rendered.”

WHEREAS, participation in holy mass, Zumba, sports, and TCMP, were the
IWD activities used as basis in the grant of TASTM for September 2018;
