Step 1: Operating System Installation

1. Make Sure the Server Computer have the specific hardware Requirement
 1.4 GHz x64 processor
 512 MB of RAM
 32 GB of disk space
 DVD-ROM
 800x600 or higher screen resolution
 Keyboard
 Mouse/compatible pointing device
2. Start the computer then let the setup begin

3. After setup is completed, the system will reboot and ask for the setup the administrator
user password.
4. Put the password to be “admin@123” then you can login to the system
Step 2: setup Local Administrator
1. go to control panel then click the user account

2. then go to manage account and select administrator

3. set the password for the administrator which will be “admin@123”

4. switch users and delete the old user

Step 3: Configure server parameters


1. In the server manager, click on local server
2. Then Click the Server name then the System properties will appear
3. Click change
4. change the server name then click the OK button
Step 4: Add Roles and Features
1. In the server manager, click on the manage button then add role and features

2. Click the Next button until you reach the Server roles section
3. Select Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), DHCP server , DNS server, Web
server(IIS)

4. Click next until you reach the Confirmation section then click ok
5. Then wait for installation to complete then click the close button
Step 5: Configure AD DS ( Setup Domain Controller [1/2] )
1. Select the flag button

2. You will now be presented with the All Servers Task Details, in which you will click on
Promote this server to a domain controller under Action.
3. The Deployment Configuration screen appears and we will select “Add a new forest” as
this is the first domain controller.

4. Enter your Root domain name and then click Next.


5. enter and select your Domain Controller Options.
6. You will then get the below warning in which you can ignore for now.click next

7. The NetBIOS domain name will then be inputted automatically. In the event of a conflict,
it will suggest an alternative by appending the original name with a 0.then click next

8. Confirm or change the locations of your database folder, log folder and SYSVOL folder
then click next

9. Review your selections and then Click Next.


10. If all of the prerequisites checks have passed successfully, you will be able to click on
Install to proceed.
11. Click Install
12. The installation will now proceed and you will see the progress being displayed.

13. The computer will most likely restart on its own to complete the installation
14. Upon restart, you should be able to login using your domain credentials for the user
administrator
Step 6 : Configure AD DS (add a new user [2/2] )
1. Once Server Manager has launched, click on Tools > Active Directory Administrative
Center

2. Click on your domain on the left navigation pane, in my instance it is corp (local).

3. creating our first Organizational Unit that will house our corporate users (this is for
creating customs Users). On the right navigation pane under Tasks > <domain name>
click on New and then select “Organizational Unit”.
4. Enter the mandatory details.then click OK
5. This will immediately create the Organizational Unit in the designated location. Double
click on your newly created Organizational Unit and on the left navigation pane, select
New User. The below screen appears in which you will fill in the necessary details.

6. Make sure you scroll down to the bottom and fill in all the necessary sections such as
Groups, Profile Settings and Organization settings.
7. Once completed, Click OK.
8. Your newly created user will now be listed in the middle navigation pane.
Step 7 : Configure DHCP
1. Open DHCP server then open DHCP manager(by right clicking the table)

2. Open the section until you reach IPv4

3. Right-click and add new scope


4. Click next then insert Name and Description ,click next

5. Insert the IP Range then click Next

6. Then click next (there will be optional configuration) until the setup is finished
Step 6 : Configure DNS server (Create DNS Zone)
1. So we try to create Primary Zone. From DNS Manager console right click Forward Lookup
zones and click New Zone.
2. On the New Zone Wizard page click Next.

3. Select Primary zone from Zone type page and then click Ne

4. Type the Domain Name or your domain to Zone name then click Next go to the next
page.
5. On the Zone File page, just click Next.

6. Leave the Dynamic Update configuration by default and click Next.

7. Finally click Finish to complete the installation.


Step 7 :Configure IIS
1. Go to the Server Manager.
2. Select Internet Information
Services (IIS) Manager from
the Manage menu

3. Click Add Website

4. Specify at least the site name and path. Click Ok


5. Your first site is ready to be accessed.
