Assignment#1

This document provides instructions for Assignment #1 and includes two questions. Students are instructed to write their name, registration, and section number on A4 paper using both sides. Assignments should be placed on the front desk at the start of lecture, and late assignments will not be accepted. Question #1 asks students to determine the peak output voltage of a bridge rectifier circuit given a 12 V rms secondary voltage from the transformer, and to specify the PIV rating required for the diodes. Question #2 asks students to draw the output waveform for a clamper circuit using an ideal diode.

Assignment #1

Note:
- Use A4 paper and write on both sides.
- Write Name, Registration and Section number
- All assignments should be placed on a front desk at the beginning of lecture.
- Late assignments shall not be entertained.

Question#1: Determine the peak output voltage for the bridge rectifier
in Figure. Assuming the practical model, what PIV rating is required for
the diodes? The transformer is specified to have a 12 V rms secondary
voltage for the standard 120 V across the primary.

Question#2: Show the output waveform vo of the clamper circuit from

the figure shown below.
- The diode is ideal.
