How To Install Wine On Ubuntu 16.

04

In this video I show you how to get Wine installed on Ubuntu 16.04.
These are the commands used on the video.

1. For 64-bit system, run command to enable 32 bit architecture:

- sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386

2 - sudo add-apt-repository ppa:wine/wine-builds

3 - sudo apt-get update

4 - sudo apt-get install --install-recommends winehq-devel

5 - winecfg

i get this on the step 4. i am also very new to linux and so far i love the platform.

I think another easy way to do this is you go into the Ubuntu Software Center, you can search for
Wine and then you will see, "Configure Wine".

Hello, that error means that previous steps didn't succeed, make sure you have executed all of
them.
If you keep facing the same problem, try these commands in order to install Wine 1.8 Stable
Version:
1.- sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
2.- sudo apt-get update
3.- sudo apt-get install wine1.8 winetricks
Then you might need to restart the computer, after that, search for Wine in your installed
software list.
Run it, and try to install any .exe
Anything else just let me know.

to start running, or whether you'd like to run it from the terminal, you just have to run:

apt-get update and it says this "E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (13:
Permission denied)

*I am on my Chromebook if that helps

Dude this worked but I can't find the app to open it...

EDIT: Finally got it all sorted out and now can use Mixlr in Ubuntu (I was almost about to re-
install windows 10 to dual because i thought it was impossible)! Couldn't done it without this
video though! You don't know how many forums I read to try to get ANY of the virtual windows
programs to work. Maddd props homie
