Notification Regarding DIT One Year Program

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Technical Education has made decisions regarding its one-year Diploma in Information Technology program. The entry requirement will be a SSC pass. The existing two-part DIT course will remain terminal in nature. Students who pass both parts will receive a one-year Diploma in IT, while those passing only part one will receive a Certificate in IT. Students will be registered for the one-year DIT course. NOTIFICATION:

Pursuant to the demand of institutions and need of the hour to increase the computer
manpower according to the market requirement, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Technical
Education, Peshawar with recommendation of the expert committee has made the following
decisions regarding one year Diploma in Information Technology program.

1. Entry Qualification for One year Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) course
shall be SSC passed or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Board in the
country.

2. The existing DIT course, spread over two parts, shall be terminal in nature without
any reshuffling of the subjects.

3. On successful completion and passing both the parts of the program, a student shall
be issued one year Diploma in Information Technology, whereas he will be issued a
Certificate of Information Technology (CIT) in case he qualifies only Part-I and does
not continue in Part-II.

4. The student of DIT shall be registered with the Board for one year course.

5. The forth coming registration of DIT program shall be made with this new policy of
the Board.

This issues in anticipation of the formal approval of the academic committee and
BOG of this Board, keeping in view the schedule of registration and commencement
of new session.
