Foaturing a 82-bit processor and FLASH memory, the ATU 50 Pll and PIIE Masior Processor Modules control all RTU logic and diagnostics, and provides support for optional periphorals and 10BaseFL Ethemet ‘communication interface. ‘The module features dlagnostic LEDS for rapid feut diagnosis and an intogral serial port for connection of dlagnostio and configuration tools. A second serial portis also available for interfacing to inteligent electronic devices. This port is user programmable, allowing the implementation of proprietary and industry standard protocols (such as Modbus). ‘The RTU 50 Pll and PIIE reside alongside the power ‘supply inthe first slot of the RTU 80 main fl. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION ‘The ATU 50 Pll and PIIE provide PC 1/0 servioss, memory Integrity checks, and interrupt checks to guarantee the reliable and deterministic operation of all RTU processes and logic. The powerful standard processor comes complete with 16 MB of RAM, 16 KB of cache memory, maths co-processor, 128 KB of EPROM and 2 MB of FLASH FLASH A key feature of tho RTU 50 Pil and PIIE is the use of FLASH for the storage of the AMX® Real-Time Operating systam, ATU system software, ATU database configurations and user configurable calculations. The system is flexible, allowing the user to pre-program the necessary software and database requirements within an office environment or on site. ‘The new FLASH card is then simply installed into a pre-commissioned ATU. This ‘exibility permits easy Upgrades of ATU sofiware aid Ualabasy changus. ‘The software package also provides diagnostic functions for system maintenance, which operates in conjunction with a personal computer to provide aceass to /O logic, communications and controls. DUAL 10BASEFL ETHERNET BOARD ‘The ATU 50 PIIE features a dual 10BaseFL Ethemet board that provides a cost-effective and versatile fiber optic Ethernet interface for the UA Serios RTU 50. ‘The optical interface maintains the high electrical Isolation characteristics of the RTU 60. ‘The dual communications channels function as primary and backup paths, delivering fault-tolerant ‘communications for critical processes. ‘The rapid deployment of the Ethernet as a network Infrastructure means that you can take advantage of the VA Series RTU 50 to interface to a wide varioty of Intelligent field devices, and LAN/WAN connections to maximize your SCADA investment,PSS 21H-8C1 B4 Page 3 FRONT PANEL LAYOUT ‘The ATU 50 Pil and PIIE front panels feature diagnostics and interfaces to facilitate maintenance, ‘configuration, and communications. A Sense/Reset (SEN/AST) switch allows the module to be hardware reset or to enter low level diagnostics mode. The FLASH memory card socket allows for the changing of the FLASH card. Two serial ports are also provided, with one serving as a configuration diagnostics port and the other as serial interface. Eight dlagnosticierror LEDs are provided to indicate the status of diagnostic points and a RUN/FAIL LED indicates module operation status. On the PIIE, the dual 10BaseFL Ethernet board provides additional LED indication for each fiber optic ‘Channel (light level, transmit, receive, jabber, collision) POWER SUPPLY MODULE , 1 ouTPur MopuLes—, Pll Front Panel and PIIE Front Panel i [ a BR [——— eur mooutes ——— e iS S Eerereree fa | dasren rcesson woos pun cowsamocione ttsPSS 21H-8C1 B4 Page 4 PHYSICAL SPECIFICATION Physical Size Double Eurocard format 160 x 283.4 mm bare board 4182 x 261.8 x 30 mm including connectors and handle ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIFICATIONS Ambient Temperature (0°C to 60°C (optional -20°C to 70°C) Humidity 10% to 95% RH (noncondensing) FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATIONS Power Requirements 45 Vat 1.5 Amaximum, 1.0 Atypical +15 V at 100 mA maximum, 15 mA typical “15 at 200 mA maximum, 30 mA typical Optional solection of +12 V and-12 V Microprocessor 32-bit AM4B6DX4, 64 MHZ Operating System AMX Bios Foxboro protected made Memory Modules + 128 KB FLASH (28F010) +16 MB DRAM (EDO SIMI) + 4MB FLASH card expandable to 64 MB. + 32KB nonvolatile RAM Poripheral Controllers TL16C554 Quad UART Custom chipset using Altera EPLD Bus Specifications Foxboro Electrobus IEEE P996 Industrial PC/AT Bus Watchdog Timer 1 second timeout to reset the RTU Front Panel RUNIFAIL LED Eight diagnostic/etror LEDS COM and COM? serial ports Sense/Reset switch FLASH memory card socket (PCMCIA) Serial Ports COMI - configurationidiagnostios CON2 - GPS/IED/user serial interface Electrical VF -DB9 male IBM PC compatible (DTE) Real-Time Clock IBM PCIAT compatible, Y2K compliant, with § ppm accuracy, also generates Electrobus synchronizing and SOE clocks Backup Time Real-time clock and non-volatile RAM are maintained during power outage, via an on-board capacitor or an optional lithium battery; up to 24 hours backup with ‘capacitor, or 8 years with the optional lithium batteryPSS 21H-8C1 B4 Page 5 PIE DUAL ETHERNET BOARD Ports ‘Two 10 Mbps 10BaseFL Ethemet ports, Interface ‘Two ST connectors (TX, RX) per port TRANSMIT POWER -15 dBm + 8 dB (-2 dB end of life) RECEIVE LEVEL “12 dBm to -$2.5 dBm for bil wior rate (BER) of 109 RANGE 2000 m WAVE LENGTH 820m OPTICAL CABLE ‘Multimade glass fiber 62.5/125 um Indicators 5 LEDe per port indicating link status (light level, transmit, receive, jabber, colision) Ethernet Chips ‘Two AM79C960 - PCnet-1SA Single Chip Ethernet Controllers ‘Sharod Momory ‘32 KB RAM avallable per port Physical Layer HFBR-1414 Transmitter HFBR-2416 Receiver HFBR-4663 10BasoFL Transceiver ORDERING INFORMATION Part Number s¥-0399066, s¥-0399067 Description ATU 50 Pll Master Processor Module ATU 50 PIIE Master Processor Module with Dual 10BaseFL EthernetPSS 21H-8C1 B4 Page 6PSS 211-801 B4 Page 7PSS 21H-8C1 B4 Page 8 “The Foxboro Company 3 Commerc!
