Archimedes was an influential Greek mathematician and inventor who lived in ancient Greece. He discovered the relationship between the surface area and volume of a sphere and cylinder and formulated Archimedes' principle relating buoyancy and density. He also invented an early water pump that used a screw to transport water through a tube from lower to higher areas.

ARCHIMEDES
the most-famous mathematician and inventor in ancient
Greece. Archimedes is especially important for his discovery of the relation between the surface and volume of a sphere and its circumscribing cylinder, he is known for his formulation of a hydrostatic principle (known as Archimedes’ principle) . he invented a water pomp, usually used for irrigation, which can carry water from lower areas to high areas through a tube and with the help of rotating screws.
Regarded As One of The Leading Scientists in Classical Antiquity and Is Credited With Designing Numerous Innovative Machines, Including The Screw Pump and Siege Engines
