Doily Schedules Report Cords
Soecialist Schedule Your child will receive a report card every nine
weeks. Grades on report card will be based on
Monday: LI:20-I2:05 Library effort, classwork, and homework. Wednesday
envelopes will have your child's work throughout

some ideas. Lists will go home on Monday and the test will be on Friday. Words can be found

Suggestions for activities to support studying for Spelling:
. Classic - Write each word 3 times each.
o Have someone give you the words as you spell them out loud.

. Type 'Em! - Type all of your spelling words on the computer or on a typewriter.

' Fancy Letters - Use old magazines, catalogs, or newspapers to cut out letters and glue them down to spell your new words!

' Hands-on - With your parent's permission, smear shave cream over your kitchen counter, practice spelling your words in the

shaving cream with your finger.

. Classic - Write each word 3 times each.


. Have someone give you the words as you spellthem out loud.

. Snowman or Scarecrow - Snowman is a non-violent version of Hangman. On a wipe-off board or chalkboard, draw a snowman
with hat and three buttons. Play like hangman (don't forget to draw the lines to show how many letters the chosen word has), but
erase a part of the snowman for each guess.

o Water Wash - (Warm day required!) Use a paintbrush and water to write your words on the sidewalk!
. Trace Around - Print one of your spelling words neatly. Take a colored pen and draw an outline around your word, closely

following the shapes of the letters. Close your eyes and remember the shape. Now try to write the word!
o ABC Order - Put your words in alphabetical order, and then write them in reverse alphabetical order.
. Riddle Me This - Write a riddle for each word.
. Story, Story - Write a story using all of your spelling words!
o Sentence, Please - Write a sentence for each spelling word.
. Rainbow Spell - Write your words using a different color for each letter.

USING THE BATHROOM


Students may use the bathroom during recess and break times. If it's an emergency, the
student may go, but it shouldn't be a regular occurrence. Every minute counts!

SHARPENING PENCILS
Students are tesponsible for keeping 3 sharpened pencils at all times. If they get low, it is
their responsibility to let their parents or Mrs. Taylor know.

DRINKS
Students may get drinks during recess, lunch or independent work time. Students may
keep a spill-proof water bottle at their desks.

SNACKS
Students may bring a snack from home to eat after morning recess. Please make sure that
it is relatively healtþ and easy to clean up.
