    Science Evaluation

    This Fourth Quarter, the topics of focus were waves, sound, and light.

    I was able to understand that magnets work by the alignment of the poles,
    but the forces depend on whether which combination of poles is at work. Like
    poles repel, but opposite poles attract. Magnetic field is the region around any
    magnet. I found out that magnetic field lines travel away from the North Pole and
    moves toward the South Pole.

    Next, I was able to differentiate the difference between mechanical and


    electromagnetic waves. Waves, first of all, are a disturbance in a medium or in an
    empty space in which energy is transferred. Mechanical waves needs medium for
    its propagation but electromagnetic waves travel in a vacuum.

    After that, I learned about how sound is called a longitudinal mechanical


    wave. Ultrasounds are sounds with frequencies above the range of human
    hearing. On the other hand, infrasounds are sounds with frequencies below the
    range of human hearing.

    Lastly, we studied about light. I was able to remember the meaning of


    reflection, refraction, and diffraction. Mirrors are also given importance, especially
    their parts and functions.

    Though this is my last quarter in Physics IV, I would keep an eye out for new
    knowledge and theories…for I am eager to learn more.

    Teacher’s Evaluation
    Ms. Ungos is innovative in her ways of making us understand her lessons.
    She lets us discuss, encouraging peer tutoring at the same time, and is very
    helpful to us when we are in need. She provides a myriad of unique activities that
    kept us interested in her lessons, and she loves making jokes to keep the mood
    light and fun. Combining her intelligence and humor together, I could say that she
    is no ordinary teacher. Indeed, she is one of kind.
