All the colleges within the territorial jurisdiction of Himachal Pradesh are affiliated to

this University. The Himachal Pradesh University sprawls over an area of about 200
acres and has a distinctive style of architectural view.
Department of Geography
The Department of Geography, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla was
established in 1989 and imparting teaching research and since last over two decades.
The department is presently running M.Sc post graduate courses, M.Phil Course and Department of Science & Technology
Advanced PG Diploma in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System.
Presently, about 40 research scholars are engaged in doctoral level research in
