middle ear, skin, soft infants <1 mo not history of
tissue, and bone. established. GI: hypersensitivity
Diarrhea (generally reactions to
mild), nausea, vomiting, cephalosporins
anorexia, abdominal and penicillin
pain. before therapy is
initiated.
CNS: = Lab tests:
Dizziness, headache, Evaluate renal
fatigue. and hepatic
function
Skin: periodically in
Rash, urticaria. patients
receiving
prolonged
therapy.
= ponitor for
manifestations
of
hypersensitivity.
Discontinue drug
and report their
appearance
promptly.

Patient & Family


Education

= Take medication
for the full
course of
therapy as
directed by
physician.

adverse
reactions
appear.
= Be alert of S&S
of
superinfections.
These symptoms

reported
promptly and
appropriate
therapy
