A piezoelectric material with a d33 value of 110×10-12 C/N that is 1 cm square and 1 mm thick will produce a voltage of 0.1V when a force of 1N is applied in the 3 direction. The deformation of the material is calculated to be 1.2×10-10 m. And the strain over voltage value is calculated to be 1.2×10-9 m/V.

Consider a piezo having d33 = 110×10-12 C/N and square size of 1cm. Thickness = 1mm.

If a Force of 1N is
applied in 3 direction, Calculate the voltage produced.

V = (d33 L F) / (0  A) = [(110×10-12 C/N)(10-3 m)(1 N)] / [(8.8×10-12 C/Vm)(1200)(10-2)2] = 0.1V

Deformation
T = ES
F/A = E dL/L  dL = F L/AE = (1N 10-3) / [(8.3×1010 N/m2) (1×10-2 m)] = 1.2×10-10 m
dL/V = 0 / d33E = [(8.8×10-12 C/Vm)(1200)/[(110×10-12 C/N)(8.3×1010 N/m2)
= 1.2×10-9 m/V
