1. Management Science is an approach to management decision-making that makes


extensive use of quantitative methods.
2. This course aims to introduce students to the application of quantitative techniques to
problems where models capture problem structure and use it to help optimize the decision
outcome.
3. The classes demonstrate how advances in computing power have made these techniques
more accessible to managers and how the techniques can be applied to a range of different
situations.
4. Provide a basic understanding of management science and engineering principles,
including analytical problem solving.
5. Prepare for practice in a field that sees rapid changes in tools, problems, and opportunities.

COURSE OUTCOMES(POS)

Student will be able to


a. An ability to design a system or components to meet desired needs.
b. An ability to function on multidisciplinary teams.
c. An ability to communicate effectively.
d. Use the modelling techniques covered to help structure management problems.
e. Solve models built using the techniques covered.
f. Demonstrate that they can interpret the results of their analysis of a management
