3. Some Subordinating Conjunctions

although = even though = though  Although / Even though / Though I was tired, I finised the test.
in spite of = despite  Despite / In spite of being tired, I finished the test.
so as to = in order to  I take on part-time job in order to / so as to pay for my college.
because = since = as  Because / since / as I work six days a week, I don’t see my friends very often.
because of  Because of my bad leg, I couldn’t join the race.
therefore  I exercise every day. Therefore, I am fit and healthy.
however  I want to go camping with my friends. However, I have too much homework to do.
moreover  I will go to America to study, and moreover, I will find a job there.
as long as  I will tell you my secret as long as you don’t tell anyone else.
