Overview of User Mail. How it works.
How to respond to user requests?
For example, if any user is asking for report customization or he/she is asking to add any field.
Type’s pf payroll.
Quick payroll
Reverse payroll
Pre payroll
After payroll
When you define an element as nonrecurring you are saying that an entry made for this
element is effective for only the current pay period. To make the entry, you set your
effective date to any date in the appropriate pay period.
Any changes you make to individual entries are always corrections. There can be no
history of element entries within a payroll period. However, the entries for each period (if
any) are stored as history for an employee.
Introduction to API.
Application Programming Interface.
To transfer bulk of data.
PL is a sort of procedure. A procedural language is a type of computer programming language
that specifies a series of well-structured steps and procedures within its programming context to
compose a program. It contains a systematic order of statements, functions and commands to
complete a computational task or program.

GIS
GIS:
Geographical Information System. In which we use RJIS and R catalog.
Geo reference: where we assign coordinates. Coordinates are given on ground and then reference
is located.
GIS application also tells about the shortest path.
DGPS: accuracy in centimeters.
How an GIS application is built
RJIS: it supports different databases. If it’s relational database, it is shown with .SDE extension.
And for personal .JDB extension or file geodatabase.
It supports these databases.
DB2
Informix
Oracle
Sql Server
Sap hana
RJIS is only a viewer.
How user responsibility is divided
Table Space: A tablespace is a storage location where the actual data underlying database objects
can be kept. It provides a layer of abstraction between physical and logical data, and serves to
allocate storage for all DBMS managed segments.
Stand Alone Application: A standalone application is one that can be executed independently
and would execute and produce some output.
ENTERPRISE RESOURCE PLANNING
(ERP)
ERP:
System of integrated applications. ERP is a Business Management Software.
SUI Gas:
Function of sui gas is to provide transmission and distribution of gas.
Financial System: it includes company’s accounting, General Ledger (GL), account payables,
account Receivables.
Fixed assets: assets which are purchased for long-term use and are not likely to be converted
quickly into cash.
Supply Chain: includes product manufacturing.
Bills of Materials: calculating investing amount of a meter while manufacturing as in what sort
of raw materials are used.
Inventory
Purchasing
Procurement
Internal and External Reacquisition.
HRMS and Payroll.
SUPPLY CHAIN:
ERP: different Modules.
eBS: Enterprise Business Solution. Comprise of all modules.
Not all the modules of Oracle are Implemented in any organization. It depends on
Organization’s requirement.
Oracle modules are under Ebs.
To use these modules. Buy license and pay annual charges.
Inventory
Inventory In
Inventory Out
Inventory process consists of the following steps:
Issuance of stock items
Processing return
Transfer between locations
Receipt and Dispatch of items
Every inventory item has associated bin cards which tells about on hand quantity of the
item with date.
Purchase process:
Procurement f item through normal tender
Procurement f item through press tender
Procurement of items through cash
Procurement f item through repeat order
Order management process:
Sales of gas meters o SSGC stores for own consumption
Sales of gas meters to SNGPL
Transmission Network: high pressure lines. Gas field TBS. Town Border Station.
Distribution Network: providing to end users.
Profiting: gas pressure Leakage.
Regulators are used for controlling pressure.
Why do we need stores at different locations?
It depends on frequency of user’s issuance.
In order to perform functions location wise.
Pepra define rules in order to purchase inventory.
Customer Infromation System (CIS)
Customer Infromation System (CIS)
Customer Information System (CIS) is a central repository of time to time customer information
linked to all transaction systems. It is used to track customer information regarding their utility
information and insight about each customer’s individual needs and preferences.
It reduces the costs associated with redundant systems by functioning as a single database,
central point of entry for creation, inquiry and retrieval.
In CIS department, SIR. Syed Sanaullah explained the core functions and advantages of CIS
system in terms of the customer billing and managing customer relationships effectively using
CC&B (Customer Care and Billing).

Infrastructure:
Infrastructure:
There are three types of drive:
• IDE OR FATA
• SATA
• SSD
SATA:
Serial Advanced Technology Attachment, often abbreviated SATA or S-ATA, is a serial link - a
single cable with a minimum of four wires creates a point-to-point connection between devices.
As an evolution of the older Parallel ATA physical storage interface, SATA host-adapters and
devices communicate via a high-speed serial cable.
According to Wikipedia, SATA computer bus, a storage-interface for connecting host bus
adapters (most commonly integrated into laptop computers and desktop motherboards) to mass
storage
devices (such as hard disk drives and optical drives), offers several compelling advantages over
the older parallel ATA/"EIDE" interface: reduced cable-bulk and cost (7 pins vs 40 pins), faster
and more efficient data transfer, and the ability to remove or add devices while operating (hot
swapping).
Advantage
Transfer rates for Serial ATA begin at 150MBps. One of the main design advantages of Serial
ATA is that the thinner serial cables facilitate more efficient airflow inside a form factor and
also allow for smaller chassis designs. In contrast, IDE cables used in parallel ATA systems are
bulkier than Serial ATA cables and can only extend to 40cm long, while Serial ATA cables can
extend up to one meter.
SSD:
A solid-state drive (SSD[1][2][3]) is a solid-state storage device that uses integrated circuit
assemblies as memory to store data persistently. SSD technology primarily uses electronic
interfaces compatible with traditional block input/output (I/O) hard disk drives (HDDs), which
permit simple replacements in common applications.[4] New I/O interfaces like SATA
Express and M.2 have been designed to address specific requirements of the SSD technology.
ADVANTAGES OF SSD:
An SSD has access speeds of 35 to 100 micro-seconds, which is nearly 100 times faster. This
faster access speed means programs can run more quickly, which is very significant, especially
for programs that access large amounts of data often like your operating system.
The price of a solid state drive is higher than an HDD, which is why most computers with an
SSD only have a few hundred gigabytes of storage. Desktop computers with an SSD may also
have one or more HDDs for additional storage.
The SSD drive has no moving parts. It uses flash memory to store data, which provides better
performance and reliability over an HDD.
TYPES OF SWITCH:
• Manageable ( assigns 2 networks)
• Non Manageable (assigns 1 network)
TYPES OF CABLES:
• Straight cable
• Cross cable
• Roll over cable
CONCLUSION
In a nutshell, it was great opportunity for me to be the part of IT Department at SSGCL. This
internship has been an excellent and rewarding experience. I can conclude that there have been
a lot I have learnt and hopefully it will be very helpful in future. Not only did I gain practical
skills but I also had the opportunity to meet many professional and experience people.
Overall, my internship has been a success. I was able to gain practical skills, work in a fantastic
environment, and make connections that will last a lifetime. I could not be more thankful.
Recommendations
Internship time period should be six weeks. Internees should be paid stipend equitably. It will be
better for the internees.
