STEPS TO CONFIGURE VPNoBB IN LINUX

1) OPEN WEB BROWSER:


TYPE: 192.168.1.1 ( BEFORE TYPING MAKE SURE THAT VPN MODEM IS CONNECTED TO
PHONE AND YOUR PC AND THERE IS GREEN SIGNAL COMING IN THE DATA OPTION OF
MODEM.)

2) AFTER ENTERING 192.168.1.1 PRESS ENTER . ENTER LOGIN DETAILS:


USERNAME: ADMIN
PASSWORD : ADMIN

3) BSNL MODEM CONFIGURATION GUI INTERFACE WILL GET OPEN.

4) FIRST CHANGE YOU HAVE TO DO IS GIVING IP TO YOUR MODEM.


IN MY CASE I HAVE GIVEN 172.18.239.6 WITH SUBNET MASK: 255.255.255.192
HOW TO DO IT?
Ó ON THE LEFT MENU BAR CLICK ON CONFIGURATION-> LOCAL NETWORK (LAN)
ENTER IP AND SUBNET MASK... THEN CLICK ON APPLY.
WAIT FOR 1 MIN AS IT WILL TAKE TIME TO GET RECONFIGURED.
2) THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP:
CLICK ON CONFIGURATION → INTERNET CONNECTION
ASK THE BSNL AUTHORITY TO PROVIDE YOU THE USERNAME AND PASSWORD
FOR THE BROADBAND THEN ENTER THE DETAILS AS SHOWN IN THE SCREEN SHOT.
THIS DETAILS ARE VERY NECESSARY BECAUSE WITHOUT IT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO
CONNECT WITH THE BSNL NETWORK.

NOW GO TO ADMIN OPTION IN THE MENU BAR CLICK ON REBOOT MODEM.


WAIT FOR SOME TIME UNTIL IT GET RECONFIGURED.
3) MOST IMPORTANT STEP: AFTER THE MODEM GET CONFIGURED …..
IN CASE OF LINUX
GO TO SYSTEM-> ADMINISTRATION-> NETWORK->
IN THE DNS TAB-> ENTER PRIMARY DNS: 164.100.17.3 AND SECONDARY DNS: 164.100.3.1
RESTART THE NETWORK SERVICES:

4) RESTART THE PC:

HOW TO CONFIGURE THE VPN WITH SWITCH TO PROVIDE CONNECTIVITY TO


CLIENT PC'S AND SERVER.

1) CONNECT THE PATCH CHORD FROM THE LAN PORT OF VPN MODEN TO THE LAN
PORT OF SWITCH.
2) NOW MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GIVEN DNS TO ALL CLIENT ( THIN & SLIM CLIENTS )
AND SERVER.
3) RESTART THE NETWORK SERVICES IN CASE OF REDHAT ENTER COMMAND:
/ETC/INIT.D/NETWORK RESTART

NOW YOU CAN BE ABLE TO ACCESS CIS SIMULATNEOUSLY WITH VPN CONNECTIVITY.
