Objective:-

To identify the role of the software in today’s world across a few


significant domains related to day to day life.

1. Education
2. Airlines
3. Banking Insurance
4. Retail
5. Health Care
6. Railways

A Computer Software is a sequence of instructions written to perform a


specified task with a computer. A computer requires programs to function,
typically executing the program's instructions in a central processor.
The program has an executable form that the computer can use directly to
execute the instructions. The same program in its human-readable source
code form, from which executable programs are derived enables a
programmer to study and develop its algorithms.

➢ EDUCATION

Computer applications include, but are not limited to, desktop publishing and
presentations, computer use in classrooms, telecommunications and distance
education, computer hardware and software, networking, lab administration,
multimedia presentations, and publishing.

1. School Administration:-

The school administration module is most important part of school.


Managing school’s day to day activities is very difficult for the school
administration department ,Software helps to educational institutions to
reduce the time and maintain school data accuracy.

Managing School’s records and avoiding the redundancy and duplication of
data manually ,is a tactic task. Software provides the efficient solution for the
maintenance of the record and remove the redundancy and duplicacy of data.

Software improves the fee collection system by providing the platform


for the various tasks:-

• Maintain the individual ledger.
• Represent the fund distribution graph
• Parents can pay the fee online

The old ways of recording the data are changing and software helps in
maintaining the school related information very easily. Parents can easily
interact with teachers and can view their child progress.

Banking software have enhanced customer service and productivity regarding


account management. The biggest impact is in the area of competition. Small
banking institutions can access the same technology as large banking
institutions and, therefore, can compete with them more effectively for
business.

the ledger systematically
• Software enhances bank and retailer to provide personalized customer
experience.
• Software provides the online facilities to the customers regarding fund
transfer,money deposit , money withdrawal.

Banking software performs customers transaction through a centralized
server.
Software allows the users to update information or can maintain records.
Banking hardware and software have enhanced the accuracy of accounts that
tellers and other banking personnel process. Account management is the
genesis and backbone of all banking information systems.
2.Web Based Banking
Web based banking system allows the user to directly access their account by
providing the ID and Password which is further authenticated by banking
software.
Web-based banking system use a dedicated server where all the information
of the users are stored cryptographically which is highly secure and reliable.

3. Electronic Transaction
Banking software provides the services to the customer to directly transfer
fund .
ATMs ,internet and mobile banking are the example of the use case of
electronic transaction.

As the technology changes with passage of time, Security and reliability has
become a major problem in the sector of banking ,so more and more
advanced software's are being developed.

Software has become the integral part of the health care system as it
enable all citizens to receive health care services whenever needed
and to deliver services that are cost-effective and meet certain pre-
established standards of quality.

2. Insurance - to protect against catastrophic risk

management is must.

For smooth functioning of complex and overlying network, the


software should be able to do:

➢ Boarding of passengers
➢ Scheduling of crews
➢ The operation of flights
➢ Maintaining and updating information on digital platforms

For managing a steady growth, it is important for the companies to


fulfill the demands of their customers and the stakeholders. For
proliferation , the industry demands for the accurate and timely
decisions to increase the efficiency. Solutions to these problems are
given by the Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) management
software.

with the help of IoT will be helpful for the passengers to know the
exact timing and location of the airlines. Also for more convenience
of the passengers and making their travel trouble free is also the
demand of the airline industry for a positive growth.

Digital trends demands the airlines to make the maximum use of


it.With this digital transformation in operational activities and
customer service , a new era for the airlines industry has come and is
expected to grow at a good rate.
