Warning: The Post-Installation procedure has changed. You must set LLTD to
something other than the default blank name once this firmware is installed. If you do
not, the LLTD device name becomes garbled in these places:

In most cases you do not need to do 08 code 693 after an update. Do 08 code 693 in
response to any of these issues:

The system settings list does not print
The NIC settings page does not print
Because you might need to perform 08-693 after the update, you should print out the
network settings before the update as has been recommended for prior versions.
The various type of SYS 300 and later firmware for e-Bridge II (e-

and e-STUDIO2500c/3500c/3510c) share a file called mentusb.o. All the
implementations of SYS 300 and later listed above share this file, and the distributed
mentusb.o file is identical in all of these distributions.
Starting with SYS 342, the mentusb.o file MUST be in the root of the USB key
filesystem. Earlier updates supported this file in the firmware directory, but this version
does not.
Create a USB key for use only with e-BridgeII SYS 300 and later machines. Place
the mentusb.o file in the root of this key. Get the mentusb.o file from any of the e-
BridgeII SYS 300 packages: they use the same mentusb.o file. Use a different
USB key for all e-Bridge I machines and any prior version firmware, where you
have prepared the key properly for those machines.
The mentusb.o file used with data cloning is different from the one used for firmware
updates.

3. Take great care to get the files for the correct model copier: the copier will accept an
update with files from a different model. The USB device must be formatted as FAT
(not Fat32). Only put the firmware files (dlFirmWare_28_451C, 1, 2, firmImage0,
firmImage1 and firmImage2) in the \28_451c directory. Put mentusb.o in \ . Do not
put the readme file on the USB device
4. Record the value in code 08-206 (Time until sleep mode is entered). You will need to
restore this after the update. Power down the copier.
8. Press Start to begin the update procedure. As each individual FROM is updated, the
copier screen will list that ROM as completed. The process is not complete until all
ROMs have been updated and the screen says “Update Completed”.
Update Completed
The update is finished when “Update Completed” is displayed on the screen. Power off
and remove the USB Memory Device.
9. Do 08 code 947. Then restore the value for 08 code 206 recorded in step 206.
10. Power up the copier, let it come to ready and wait for the network to initialize. You
must do this step before powering up in [Print][9] mode in order to let the copier
complete certain internal updates.
11. Power up the copier in [Print] [9] mode and confirm the list outputs.
12. Check the LLTD device name in TopAccess (Admin ∷ Setup ∷ Network ∷ LLTD
Session). Put in a default name if this setting is blank.
