UNIT IV:
OCEAN & TIDAL ENERGY
Ocean and Tidal energy conversion-working principle of OTEC-Anderson closed cycle OTEC
system-Application of Merits and demerits of ocean energy technologies.
Tides-spring tide, neap tide, daily and monthly variation, Tidal range, Tidal Power-Types of
tidal power plants, single basin & double basin schemes, main requirements in tidal power
plants, energy storage, prospects of tidal power.

UNIT V:
BIO-ENERGY
Energy from Bio-mass-Biogas plants various types Industrial wastes-Municipal waste-
Burning plants –Energy from the Agricultural wastes Applications.
