Rationale

The onslaught of the advancement in technology is quite amazing. During the

past twenty years, there has been a rapid change in the quality of man’s

standard of living, shaped up and influenced by the tremendous advancement in

technology, especially in areas of information and communication. Extreme

efforts are being made to further advance technology to improve the quality of life

of humankind and develop the so called digital world we are living in. These

advancements created a significant impact not only in human lives but it has also

greatly benefited the present world economically and politically.

The field of education has also benefitted in the said advancement. It is a wise

move to take advantage of these advancements and apply them in whatever

area we can so we could keep pace with progress. Hence, the proposal to have

an online Alumni tracking and monitoring system in Isabela State University –

Ilagan (ISU - Ilagan) is designed for the purpose of helping in the tracking and

monitoring of the Alumni because tracking them manually will require more time
vi

and efforts. The Online Alumni Tracking and Monitoring System of ISU – Ilagan

will ease the burden of the School Alumni Unit and Placement Coordinator and it

will also help to meet some of the requirements in the accreditation of the

University standards set for higher education.

Summary

Through the analysis made in this study, the researcher found out that the

calculated mean of the System Evaluation ISO 9126, Functionality got an

average of 4.42, Reliability – 4.26, Usability – 4.50, Efficiency – 4.25,

Maintainability – 4.41 and Portability – 4.45. With these calculated mean, the

computed general mean was 4.38 which were interpreted as Very Acceptable.

Conclusion

The evaluation was conducted to evaluate the proposed system. This

system is an effective tool to the Alumni Unit and Placement Coordinator or

Guidance Counselor in tracking and monitoring the Alumni, the dissemination of

information accessible to the Alumni of Isabela State University, the website a

channel in disseminating the announcements from the administration to the

Alumni, another medium of posting and informing about the Calendar of Events

and News of Isabela State University – Ilagan Campus, promote and advertise

the services, achievements and attainment of the graduates of Isabela State

University – Ilagan Campus and make Isabela State University be known not just

locally but globally. It will lessen work load or make work a lot easier.
