TurboGrid Interface
• TurboGrid can operate inside of Workbench or Standalone
– This lecture assumes that you have some experience with the
Workbench Environment
• Advantages of running TurboGrid inside the Workbench
environment:
– Simplifies the workflow
• Connecting to CAD and CFD preprocessor is facilitated
• Easier to update a project when a change is made
– E.g. after a geometry change a single click updates the Mesh
– Allows you to easily link to other Analysis Systems and Components
– Is necessary when performing DesignExploration (parametric studies)
• Advantages of running TurboGrid standalone:
– Less computational overhead
– Produces a simpler directory / file structure on disk

The Workbench Environment
• For most situations the Workbench GUI is divided into 2
primary sections (there are other optional sections we’ll see in
a moment):
TurboGrid is found in the Toolbox
under Component Systems
TurboGrid can be:
– Created as a standalone system
– Linked to BladeGen
– Linked to Geometry (DesignModeler)
CFX and Fluent can be linked to
TurboGrid
• Once TurboGrid is on the Project Schematic
– Double Click on the TurboGrid component on the Project Schematic
– Right Click on the TurboGrid component on the Project Schematic and
select Edit

• Typical procedure is to work from top to bottom in Object
Selector
– To edit an object use the Object Edtior
• Object Editor
– To open on object in the Object Editor
• Double click an object in the Object Selector
• Right click an object and use the shortcut menu
– Can also edit Objects in the Command Editor
• Right click on Object
• Select Edit in Command Editor and modify the CCL (defined on next
slide)
