Job Description
Job Description is part of organisation, A Job
description may include relationships with other people
in the organization Supervisory level, managerial
requirements, and relationships with other colleagues;
for selected candidate or employee know about their
job content, environment etc.
To understand Job Description first we will take some
brief about Job Analysis.

What is Job Analysis?


Why is it use?

Job Analysis:- “A process of gathering information


about a job”. It tries to “reduce the words the things
that the people do in human work.” The identification
and precisely identifying the required task, the
knowledge and the skills necessary for performing
them and the conditions under which they must be
performed.
 JA provides following information:
o Job identification
o Important characteristics of a job
o Job duties
o What materials and equipment the worker
uses?
o How a job is done?
o Require personal attributes
o Job relationship

 Uses of JA:-
o Human resource planning
o Recruitment
o Selection
o Placement and orientation
o Training
o Counselling etc.

JA further divides in two parts


Job Description:-
Where the details regarding the job are given.

o Employee job descriptions are written statements


that describe the duties, responsibilities, required
qualifications, and reporting relationships of a
particular job. They are based on objective
information obtained through Job Analysis, an
understanding of the competencies and skills
required to accomplish needed tasks, and the
needs of the organization to produce work.

o Employee job descriptions clearly identify and spell


out the responsibilities of a specific job.
o They also include information about working
conditions, tools, equipment used, knowledge and
skills needed, and relationships with other
positions including the boss.
Capture all key aspects of your education, work
experience and achievements in your profile “It helps if
you write detailed job descriptions as it makes it that
much easier to be spotted by a prospective head
hunter.”

Contents:- it usually covers the following information


o Job Title: Tells about the job title, code number
and the department where it is done.
o Job Summary: A brief about what the job is all
about.
o Job Activities: description of task done, facilities
etc.
o Working Conditions: The physical environment of
job in terms of heat, light, noise and other hazards.
o Social Environment: size of work group and
interpersonal interactions required to do to a job.
Job Description – Jodhpur Infocrates Co Ltd
Title: Sales and Marketing Executive
Reports to: Sales and Marketing Director, Jodhpur.
Based at: Jodhpur Infocrates Co Ltd, Jodhpur,Rajasthan
Job purpose:
To plan and carry out direct marketing and sales activities, so
as to maintain and develop sales of Jodhpur Infocrates
machinery range to Rajasthan major accounts and specifiers,
in accordance with agreed business plans.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

1. Maintain and develop a computerised customer and


prospect database.
2. Plan and carry out direct marketing activities (principally
direct mail) to agreed budgets, sales volumes, values,
product mix and timescales.
3. Develop ideas and create offers for direct mail and
marketing to major accounts by main market sector and
SNP's ABC products.
4. Respond to and follow up sales enquiries by post,
telephone, and personal visits.
5. Maintain and develop existing and new customers
through planned individual account support, and liaison
with internal order-processing staff.
6. Maintain and report on equipment and software
suitability for direct marketing and sales reporting
purposes.
7. Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions
necessary to perform duties and aid business and
organisational development.

Core product range of four machines price range 100k to
500k. Target sectors: All major multiple-site organisations
having more than 1,000 staff. Territory: Rajasthan.

large contracts or even a business.
