This document outlines the course structure and content for the subject Engineering Thermodynamics. It is divided into 5 units that will be covered over 75 class periods. Unit I introduces basic concepts of thermodynamics including systems, equilibrium, and the first law of thermodynamics. Unit II covers the second law of thermodynamics, entropy, and availability analysis. Unit III focuses on properties of pure substances and steam power cycles. Unit IV examines ideal and real gases as well as thermodynamic relations. Finally, Unit V looks at gas mixtures and psychrometrics.
