value system, solving problems with addition and subtraction within 1,000, and building
foundations for multiplication.

problems. Students develop a variety of strategies to use efficient, accurate, (4.b)

Objective:
A ​Students
B ​Will be able to practice adding and subtracting math problems
C ​this will be after doing practice problems with the whole class
D​ they will be tested by doing harder math questions

Materials needed:

● Bingo card
● Chips foam
● Paper
● pencil

Anticipatory Setting (attention getter):

● Who uses numbers to count?


● What do they count?
● Use money as an example. As well as number of toys.

Opening:

● Explain addition and subtraction


● Explain revelconcy
Instructional input:

● I will give them math problems first with addition then subtraction and explain to them
when they have to add and when they have to subtract.

Modeling:

● I will again use math problems to show them how to do it in both addition and
subtraction. With the keywords that will tell them if it's adding or subtracting.

Guided practice:

● I will use the students and create problems where they have to identify if they will add or
if they will subtract.

Independent practice:

● They will solve the math problems given on the board and find it ( if they do) on their
card and put a chip over it.

Assessment:

● They will be given a problem at the end as a “bonus” to get a sticker by doing a harder
question in both addition and subtraction

Clouser:

● Have them explain the keywords for adding and subtracting and why adding and
subtracting is important.
