Computer Proposal

The document is a 2009 research proposal on the field of medical imaging. The student proposes to minor in radiology and research the various branches of medical imaging such as X-rays, MRI, CT scans, and ultrasounds. The goals are to develop an understanding of the computer technologies used in each branch and the careers available. The literature review lists reference books and Wikipedia to support the research. An outline presents the thesis that medical imaging branches into many careers and covers topics like radiology, sonography, MRI, CT scans and their uses.

2009 Research Proposal

Mariah Sacre
Mr. Cheng

Definition and Goals:

The Medical Imaging field has grown to be a very important tool in hospitals. So, careers in
this field are in high demand. Medical Imaging careers branch into different fields such as taking
X-rays, MRI’s, CT scans, PET scans, and ultrasounds. I am going to minor in Radiology with an
Associate’s degree. From there I have the opportunity to major in many other branches of the Medical
Imaging field. My research goal is to develop a thorough understanding of the many branches of
Medical Imaging and the computer machines used in each branch of MI.

Literature Review:
References I have found to use for research on this topic include the books Computational
Intelligence in Medical Imaging, Language of Medicine, and Imaging for Medicine. I will also use
Wikipedia.
