    Baby Zaira Akhtar, a 17 month old female, had a routine blood test. The results showed a hemoglobin level of 12.6 gm/dl, within the normal range of 12-15 gm/dl. A complete blood count found a red blood cell count, hematocrit, and platelet count within normal ranges, but a slightly elevated white blood cell count of 9.2 thousand/cumm. A differential count found neutrophils and lymphocytes within normal ranges but outside expected percentages. No abnormal cells were observed. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate was slightly elevated at 12 hours. A C-reactive protein test was pending.
