Course Outline PDF

This document provides an overview of the course contents and recommended books for the Measurement and Instrumentation (ME-314) course. The course covers topics such as the significance of measurement, experiment planning, calibration of static and dynamic instruments, and measurement errors. It also discusses instruments for measuring length, force, torque, frequency, pressure, flow and temperature. The course introduces data acquisition using computers and analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters. It recommends two textbooks: Measurement Systems Applications and Design which covers measurement systems and Theory and Design for Mechanical Measurement which discusses mechanical measurement theory and design.
