Installing the Dr.

Brown’s Services Script


Please note this script can only be used with Adobe Photoshop CS5/CS6

Automated installation on Mac or Windows®:


1. Close Adobe Photoshop and the Adobe Bridge applications if they are
currently running.
2. Open the Adobe Extension Manager CS5/CS6 that was installed with Photoshop.
For best results, PC users should Right Click on the Extension Manager
Application and select the option to launch into the Administrator Mode.
3. Remove any older versions of Dr. Brown’s Services from the Extension
Manager dialog before installing any new versions.
4. Select the install button at the top of the Extension Manger window.
5. Locate, and select, the file named Services_Installer_2.3.1.zxp
6. Follow the instructions and install the script.
7. If you have any installation issues, please refer to the manual installation
instructions.

Manual installation on Mac or Windows®:


In some cases the Adobe Extension Manager CS5/CS6 will not correctly install all the
components of Dr. Brown’s Services into the correct locations.

If you are experiencing problems after running the Extension Manager installer
then use this information to help with a manual installation. Once you have
installed these files you can access Dr. Brown’s Services from the Tools menu in
Adobe Bridge CS5/CS6.

You will need to restart Adobe Photoshop CS5/CS6 after installing these files. Also for
PC users, be sure that you are in Administrator Mode when installing, or coping
these scripts. If you are not in Administrator Mode, some files will not be copied
correctly.

Dr. Brownʼs Services CS5/CS6 Manual Installations


Follow these four steps to installing the files into the correct location on your Macin-
tosh or PC computer. The path location for the files is indicated in red.
Macintosh Users:

Step 1 – Locate the files named Image Processor Pro.jsx, Image Processor
Pro.xml, and a folder named Icons from the downloaded manual installation folder.
a. Image Processor Pro.jsx
b. Image Processor Pro.xml
c. Icons Folder

Step 2 –Place these three items from Step 1 into the Scripts folder. Open your
Macintosh hard disk window (originally named Macintosh HD which is the Root
System) and find the Library Folder. Place the 3 items as follows.
Applications / Adobe Photoshop CS5/CS6 / Presets / Scripts
Remember; only move these three files to this location.

Step 3 – Locate the file named Dr. Brown’s Services.jsx from the downloaded
manual installation folder.
a. Dr. Brownʼs Services.jsx

Step 4 – Place this one item into the Adobe Bridge folder at the following location
on your computer
(Macintosh HD) Root System / Library / Application Support / Adobe / Startup
Scripts CS5/CS6 / Adobe Bridge
Remember; only move this one file to this location.

Standard PC Users:

Step 2 – Place these three items from Step 1 into the Scripts folder at the following
location on your computer.

Remember; only move these three files to this location.

Remember; only move this one file to this location.

64 Bit PC Users:

Step 1 – Locate the files named Image Processor Pro.jsx, Image Processor
Pro.xml, and a folder named Icons from the downloaded manual installation folder.
a. Image Processor Pro.jsx
b. Image Processor Pro.xml
c. Icons Folder

Step 2 – Place these three items from Step 1 into the Scripts folder at the following
location on your computer.

For the 32 bit version of Photoshop copy here:


Program Files (x86)/ Adobe / Adobe Photoshop CS5/CS6 / Presets / Scripts

For the 64 bit version of Photoshop copy here:


Program Files/ Adobe / Adobe Photoshop CS5/CS6 / Presets / Scripts

Remember; only move these three files to this location. You need to do this twice if you
want the scripts on both the 32 and 64 bit versions of Photoshop.

Step 3 – Locate the file named Dr. Brown’s Services.jsx from the downloaded
manual installation folder.
a. Dr. Brown’s Services.jsx

Step 4 – Place this one item into the Adobe Bridge folder at the following location
on your computer.
Program Files (x86)/ Common Files / Adobe / Startup Scripts CS5/CS6 / Adobe Bridge

Remember; only move this one file to this location. You do not need to copy this file to the
64 bit folder. Only do this once.
