SERIAL Programming for Symbol Barcode Scanner

Look at Device manager and discover which COM port the scanner is using. It will show
up under Ports (COM & LPT)

TIP --

Open Device Manager by

right-clicking on My Computer
and then choose Manage.
Select Device Manager from
the list in the left pane of the
window

Generally, this will be COM1, as shown above. If there are two physical COM ports on
the PC (this is unusual) you might have to try COM2 to get the scanner to work.
IF A SERIAL-TO-USB ADAPTER IS BEING USED, IT MUST HAVE A COM PORT
NUMBER IN THE RANGE OF 1 TO 4 TO WORK WITH FILEONQ.

TROUBLESHOOTING
 Be sure the Local Wand (scanner) is enabled (checkbox is checked) on the correct COM port
inside FileOnQ. (Tools > Options > This Workstation > Local Wand)
 You can do the full reprogramming of the scanner at any time. If that does not resolve the
problem call FileOnQ Tech Support. 800-603-6802, option 4.
