Hey !! So I previousy wrote a review on the AIRTEL 4G HOTSPOT E5573CS-609 MODEL, you can check
it here (h ps://gadgetgurumelville.wordpress.com/2016/11/27/airtel-4g-hotspot-e5573cs-609-model/). At
the end of the post I mentioned that this device can only be Unlocked using a shot boot method. This is
because we need to Change the internal firmware to a generic Huawei Firmware instead of the Custome
one which Airtel ships with.
Now there are may many blogs out there where they will guide you to do the same, but they will not
provide entire solution untill you pay them a small amount of Rs500/-
I Maganed to find this solution with a li le help of those blogs and research on my own.

I am providing the eitire solution below, for every one and I don’t want money, however, if you need me
to do this for you, then I will Charge . Also If you wish to donate to me, if you found this post usefull,
you can using paytm and scan the QR code at the end of the post.
In the earlier models (E5573s), when you need to change the firmware, there was a need to enter a code
known as a device Flash code. This flash code was easy to calculate for the Old models based on the
IMEI number as the algorithm used was either Algo V1,Algo V2 or Algo V3.
However the latest model, E5573Cs, uses the Algo V4, which requires a code, called DataLock Code. This
code cannot be calculated using IMEI number easily. Also Airtel does not provide this Code at all.
Hence, to change the firmware, we need to Remove this code entirely. This DataLock Code is stored on a
space called the NVRAM (Non -Volatile RAM), along with other data like your Device Serial Number,
Device IMEI number, Wi-Fi default SSID, Wi-Fi Default Password.
Hence Using this method, will also delete all these other Data as well. In the post I will Also show how
to restore this data. However, please be informed, this post is t share the knowledge, and all
responsibility of performing these steps is on you. Your device will loose its waranty and it cannot be
restored easily. Hence, I will not be held responsible for any damage. Please Proceed at your own risk.

Method:
Please proceed at your own risk !!!!
Step 1: Start your Device by long pressng the bu on in the center, and both led lights for network and
ba ery will blink green. Connect your Device to the PC / Laptop and let the drivers get installed. If the
Autorun Option is available, run it and install the softwares.
Once the Default Drivers are installed, run the Huawei-HiLink-Drivers and Mobile Partner Drivers and
instal them as well.
Now open the Web UI in the browser (if it does not auto open 192.168.1.1/html/home.html) Go to
Se ings (if prompted for ID / Pass, enter admin in both), then go to device se ings and make a Note of
the IMEI and Serial Number. This information will also be present inside the Device behind the ba ery
and on the Box you received the device in. We need this information to restore it later as I said it will get
errased in the process.
Step 2: Now turn off your device, by long pressing the Center bu on, and remove the back cover. Leave
the Ba ery inside and Remove the 6 screws and open the front of the device.
Step 3: Now we have to boot shot the device. For this you will need a wire or any metal which can be
used to touch the Ground connection to the Boot loader on the board, as shown in the below diagram.
Keep both touched with one hand, and with the other connect the device to the PC / Laptop with USB.
You should hear a Sound and you will see some hardward is ge ing installed.
Step 4: Now open Extract Balong_USB_Downloader_1.0.1.10 and E5573cs-323_usbloader, both these in

one folder. Run Balong and clikc on the Detect bu on, it will auto detect the COM Port and then clikc on
the 3 dots near the Load bu on –> selet USBLoader file which we extracted and click on load.
The Progress bar at the bo om will load. let it complete till the end, do not interupt it or disconnect the
cable even if it freezes. Once done again you will hear a sound and the router will restart and you will
again see some hardware installing.
Step 5: Now close Balong, and open the file E5573Cs-322TCPU-21.318.99.03.00_Firmware_Normal.zip

and execute the .exe inside it. clikc on next,let it detect the device and it should start downloading and
installing the Firmware in the Router.
Step 6: Once done, wait for a few minutes for the device to restart and then open any one of the files
E5573Cs-609Update_21.318.09.00.00_Firmware_Universal.zip / E5573Cs-931TCPU-
21.318.05.00.00_Firmware_general.zip (which ever works, if one doesn’t try the other) and run the exe
again. again it will download the new firmware and update it.
Step 7: Now that the firware is installed, you have to install the WEB UI. Open the E5573Cs_WEBUI-
17.100.15.00.03_Firmware_universal.zip or E5573Cs_WEBUI_17.100.15.01.03_general.zip (which ever
works, if one doesn’t try the other) and run the exe inside it. Again it will detect the Device and install
the WEB UI this time, once done, the device will restart and in a while your brouser will auto open with
the Link 192.168.8.1/html/home.html
CONGRATULATIONS!!! your device is now UNLOCKED…
However, now that you wiped the NVRAM, your IMEI and Serial Number is wiped off and such a
device is illegal to operate in any country. If you try to access the internet with a device with no IMEI,
your operator could disconnect your connection immidiately. Hence, Now we need to restore the IMEI
and Serial number you got in step 1.
To do this, follow the Below Steps.
Step 1: Turn your Device off, wait for a while, and turn it on.
Step 2: Open dc-unlocker and run it. In Select manufacturer, select Huawei modems and then click on
the magnify glass to search.
You may get an error like below.

Access denied! Check firewall, antivirus, try to launch software as Administrator!

Ignore it and keep clicking search till it detectes the device and gives information like in the screen shot
Here you will see that IMEI is set to 000000000000000 and Serial Number is wrong.
Step 3: Now to Fix the IMEI Number, run copy the Below command in dc-unlocker, below the ========
and press enter on keyboard. you should get a return value OK.
AT^CIMEI=”Replace with your IMEI number”
Step 4: Now to Fix Serial Number we have to Generate the Hash Hex Code for your serial number. For
this install the software free-hex-editor-neo.exe.
Now open it and click on File –> New File.
Enter your Serial Number as you got it (Case Sensitive) on the Right side, and on the left the Hex Code
will auto generate.
Step 5: Now run the Below Commany in DC-Unlocker,and it should return OK.
AT^NVWR=6,16,Your Hex code with SPACES
example: AT^NVWR=6,16,35 4c 32 37 53 31 36 39 39 33 30 30 31 33 32 39
Step 6: If you want to set a datalock code use the command, and you can set any 8 digit valyue you like.
AT^DATALOCK=”12345678″
Now If you again click on the search bu on on dc-unlocker, it will re-populate the details and you will
see the correct IMEI and Serial Number.
Step 7: If you would like to rename your Wi-Fi SSID and password, open the new Browser WEB UI
using h p://192.168.8.1/html/home.html (you will have to turn you device on and off after using DC-
Unlocker) and go to se ings.
NOW YOUR DEVICE IS UNLOCKED AND READY TO USE!!!!
YOU CAN USE THE SAME METHOD FOR IDEA HOTSPOT OR ANY DEVICE WHICH HAS MODEL
NUMBER E5573CS
***************** UPDATE 01-Feb-2017***************
With the Universal Huawei WebUI, there was one drawback, which was you could not lock on to a
specific Network Type for 4G. it was possible for 2G / 3G or Auto, but not 4G. 4G would only work
under auto, and there was no way to lock on only to 4G automatically.
With the Below Details, this issue is resolved. You can Choose to use either the Huawei Universal WebUI
or the Airtel WebUI or the Idea WebUI.
I have uploaded above, in the beginning, a new link for WebUI’s which have this feature. We can use the
original Airtel / Idea WebUIs itself. So once your done following the steps I mentioned above for
unlocking, just open either E5573CS_WEBUI-17.100.15.01.284_India_Airtel.zip or Huawei_E5573cs-
609_WEBUI-17.100.15.01.356_India_Idea.zip. execute the program, and install the new WebUI.
If it gives an error, try removing the ba ery pu ing it back. then starting the device, and then running
the program.
Also for some reason the software runsin arabic, so everything is from Right to Left (only when
installing) so YES is on the Right Bu on.
Below is the screenshot for your referenece. You can use any WebUI (Idea or Airtel) as both will work on
both devices.
All Details to this post are perfect and updated.
PS: I know that looking at this post, anyone can unlock this device, and some people may think of
utilizing the knowledge and tools from this post to take money from people who are unaware of how to

good video.. But your video is for unlocking Airtel E5573s. not E5573Cs. these both are different
models and your method will not work for the E5573Cs model. Reason is because E5573s Data
unlock code is built on algo 3 and E5573Cs data unlock code is built on algo 4. The 2nd step which
you say to use Unlock code calculator will not work. Any way its a good detailed video for the
previous model and you have done it on windows 10 which is be er.

1.Not able to use the internet in pc by direct connection with Huawei hotspot and login page is

I had bought an unlocked Airtel E5573CS-609 from amazon, worked fine but couple of days ago,
both the lights started blinking. Its always connected to wall outlet via 5W adapter. There is no wifi

Both Lights blinking? Can you try rese ing the Device by pressing the bu on at the back. If that
doesnt help, try flashing the device with the firmwares i gave. without the Bootshot step. if it asks
for device unlock code and you dont have that then try the boot shot step as well.

some initial hiccups. I used Win 10 64bit pc. Only thing is I used HiLink from my mobile to add apn

hi .. great it worked for you. Win 10 does give issues.. you should use Win 7 .. it works smoothly..
if you use the Idea or Airtel OG WebUI you cant add the APN from Desktop WebUI, that time
you have to use HiLink on mobile to add APN, hence i mentione after step 3, 1st add APN, then
move to step 4

Reset bu on will not work. Regarding SIM check if its loose. try pu ing a small
packing behind the SIM. as i am not facing this issue im not sure what could be
cause. I am able to use mine for Hours at a stretch

You have to use bootshot only 1st time to remove the nvram data. Once done.. you dont
need to booy shot again. You can directly flash firmwares

im not sure what your doing so i really cant suggest. zong devices dont work with
this post. and if its any other device brand i suggest follow the post properly. install
all drivers. use only windows 7 pc, not windows 10, and it should all go good.

first off all a big thanks to Melville , love you guy
what a lucid instruct-able from you.
for the help of other readers , i would like to explain that always keep a look on the device
manager window. any question mark drivers may be ew_jubusenum inf or FcSerial inf or
ew_cdcacm inf or may be ew_cdcmdm inf …… so please keep handy ver 5 drivers and fc serial
drivers , always extrated and handy .
thas was what when i found my win 10 could not load required drivers and usb device not
recognized error occured several times.
my road map …..
1st bootshot and found usb device not recognized . and i have to forced update for fc serial driver
(if i remember correctly) .
then balong with usbloader-5573cs-322 bin to load and….. ,success .
step two my device was happy with E5573cs_Update_21.318.99.03.00 firmware.
step 3 file 1 E5573cs_Update_21.318.09.00.00 the firmware and
Update_WEBUI_17.100.15.00.03_MRE5 the webui …. success.
last restored imei and serial as suggested . success
lastly i would sujjest be logical to all steps do not haste.

which device do you have E5573s or E5573Cs ?? if you have E5573S this method will not work.
this is only for E5573CS. you will have to get firmwares for E5573S and flash those.

first i switched off the router & connect it to PC (A green light of ba ery was on continuously)
then i touched both the points u mentioned in ur tutorial with a clip with my hands. but i didnt get

you are supposed to connect the points 1st and then connect to pc.
1.Switch off the device

2.touch the boot points

I know. I tried searching the same but that I dis not find as well. You can just write the Mac
ssid and pass by connecting the device to the pc and going to se ings. It is sufficient.

This worked great, Thanks ! A couple of stuff that I think should be mentioned –
When updating the IMEI, it kept giving me +CME ERROR: 10. I couldn’t find any reference of this,
Searched the net and it turns out this error is because there is no SIM card inserted, I had not inserted
a SIM to avoid ge ing banned due to using a device with no IMEI on the network.
When using the Balong USB downloader, after selecting the “E5573cs-323_usbloader” file, it kept
throwing error “file access denied”. Tried se ing all access rights, starting the app in admin mode
but didn’t work. Finally I just copy-pasted the file in the same folder, creating a duplicate copy and
selected that and it worked
Just thought this might be useful to others who face the same issue as me

protected firmware (provided key after reciving some amount) and usbloader. boot loader worked
direct (With out belong tool) Device is now all okay. but I have another problem. it shows no service

You have to let it be even if it freezfreezes. It takes a while at time. Also keep all files in desktop

if you have taken back up of the details before doing USBload OR if
you have the original box which has serial and IMEI mentioned on it
OR you can get the SERIAL and IMEA from the sticker on the device
behind of the ba ery.. just follow the steps i wrote to re-write these

you dont have to do bootshot to change webui.. just instally it directly..boot shot is only to
flash the usbloader to erase the NVRAM .. once NVRAM is erased, you can flash any webui
and firmware without any issues.

Ignore what is wri en. Just make sure it auto detects your device. Then select the
unloaded and click load. Once the progress bar is full you can close it

Just connect your device to any machine via the USB cable. the Web UI will auto open.. and
you can go to se ings and change your password. The webui ID and pass is admin (same
for both)

Many-2 thanks for providing unlock solution. I have unlocked E5573cs-609 using this procedure, it
works only for 2-3 days with jio sim card. After 2-3 days it stopped working and when i am trying to
start it is restarting automatically before proper boot and no wifi and not reconsigning on desktop. If
i will remove sim card then it works. I also unlocked 2 more data cards for my friends and same issue
is there. To resolve issue i have to flash firmware again. Is there any permanent solution for this issue.
Yesterday i read some articles on gsmhosting claiming permanent fix for this issue. please provide us

month after flashing firmware and not faced issue but issue comes only if we are using JIO sim
card. Model number is E5573cs-609 & E5573s-606 and leaving in U arakhand. Same issue
comes in both models after 2-3 days if using JIO sim.

Hi Abhi. This is a great video, and all the steps in the video are the same as have described,
however the difference in the video is that the person is using USBSAFELOADER for E5573CS,
and this SAFELOADER does not wipe out the NV RAM however, its not available in open source.
one has to pay to get it from outerunlock. The Method i have given is completely free

I don’t have the usbsafeloader for 609.. I have the one for 322 which is already in the zip.
However it does not work. If the safe loader was working I would give that.. besides I am

the steps are mentioned, im not sure why your facing this error. Save all the files on your desktop
and make sure yo uhave admin rights. if your still having an issue i can do it for a nominal

Do you use Team Viewer?
