HOW TO CREATE A BIG BOOK

I.OBJECTIVES

A. Talk about big books.


B. Create a big book version of a favorite story or an ABC about
a favorite topic.
C. Appreciate the value of books.

II.SUBJECT MATTER

How to create a big book

Materials Needed
 Teacher selected examples of big books
 Large sheets of construction paper, at least 12 inches by
18 inches (one per student)
 Teaches selected alphabet blocks, cards, or charts
 Crayons
 Large tag board
 Whole punch
 Brads or other half type of fasteners

VALUE FOCUS: SHOW RESPECT TO ONE`S OUTPUT.

III.PROCEDURE
 If students are not familiar with big books, select a big
book to show them.
Give the directions on how to create a big book.
 Ask a student about the big books or are they familiar
about the big books. If not, show one big book to them.
 Explain the uses of big books in their learning as a student.
 Let them create their own big book.
 Show their output in front of the class.

Draw a big book to your short bond paper by group.

IV. EVALUATION
 Ask students to describe the shape of the book.
 Tell students that big books are books that have
large pictures and words.
 Then challenge the children to create a BIG ABC
BOOK on a subject they choose, such as shapes or
lines.

V. ASSIGNMENT
Make your own Big Book at home.
