Ziarat of Imam Hussain (asws)

on the 15th of Rajab

Shaykh al-Mufid has mentioned in his book of ‘al-Mazar’ a special form of ziyarah that is said at
visiting the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussain (asws) at this night, which is called ‘al-Ghufaylah (the
neglected night)” because the majority of people are unmindful of the merit of this night.

When you want to visit Imam al-Hussain (asws)’s shrine on this night, you may enter the holy shrine
and repeat the following statement three times:

.ُ ‫اﷲ أَﻛ َﱪ‬
ُ ّ
allahu akbar.
Allah is the Greatest.

Then, you may stop at the tomb and say the following:

،ِ‫اﷲ‬ ْ �‫اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋﻠ ْﻴ‬

ّ ‫آل‬ ‫ﺎ‬‫ﻳ‬
َ َ ُ‫ﻢ‬ َ َ ُ َّ
alssalamu `alaykum ya ala allahi
Peace be upon you all; O the Household of Allah.

Peace be upon you all; O the elite of Allah.

Peace be upon you all; O the best of Allah’s creation.

Peace be upon you all; O the lions of jungles.

Peace and Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you; O the inheritor of the knowledge of the
Prophets.

Peace be upon you; O the inheritor of Adam (as), the elite of Allah.

Peace be upon you; O the inheritor of Nuh (as), the Prophet of Allah.

Peace be upon you; O Ibrahim (as), the intimate friend of Allah.

Peace be upon you; O the inheritor of Ismael (as), the slaughtered by Allah’s order.

Peace be upon you; O the inheritor of Musa (as), the spoken to by Allah.

Peace be upon you; O the inheritor of Isa (as), the spirit from Allah.

Peace be upon you; O the inheritor of Muhammad (saw), the dearly beloved by Allah.

Peace be upon you; O the son of Khadijah (sa) al Kubra

ِ ‫اﻟﺸ ِﻬ‬ ‫ﻴﺪ ْاﺑ‬‫ﻚ ﻳﺎ َﺷ ِﻬ‬ ْ ‫اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋﻠ‬

alssalamu `alayka ya shahidu abna alshshahidi
Peace be upon you; O the martyr and the son of the martyr.
،‫ﻴﻞ‬‫ﺘ‬ ‫اﻟﻘ‬ ‫ﻦ‬ ْ ‫اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋﻠ ْﻴﻚ ﻳﺎ ﻗﺘﻴﻞ‬

alssalamu `alayka ya qatilu abna alqatili
Peace be upon you; O the slain and the son of the slain.
،‫اﷲِ و ْاﺑﻦ وﻟِ ِ ّﻴ ِﻪ‬

َ ‫اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ‬

alssalamu `alayka ya waliyy allahi wabna waliyyhi
Peace be upon you; O Wali of Allah and the son of His (Allah’s) Wali.

ْ ْ ‫اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋﻠ ْﻴﻚ ﻳﺎ ﺣﺠﺔ اﷲ و‬

alssalamu `alayka ya hujjata allahi wabna hujjatihi `ala khalqihi
Peace be upon you; O Hujjat (proof) of Allah and the son of His Hujjat (proof) over His
creation.
،‫ﺎة‬‫ﻛ‬ ‫اﻟﺰ‬ ‫ﺖ‬ ْ ‫ وآﺗ‬،‫أ ْﺷﻬﺪ أﻧﻚ ﻗ ْﺪ أﻗ ْﻤﺖ اﻟﺼﻼة‬

ash-hadu annaka qad aqamta alssalata wa atayta alzzkata

I testify that you established the prayers, and you gave the zakat,
ْ ْ �‫ و‬،‫وأﻣ ْﺮت ﺑﺎﻟﻤ ْ�وف‬
،‫ﻜ ِﺮ‬
َ ‫اﻟﻤﻨ‬ ‫ﻦ‬‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﺖ‬ ‫ﻴ‬
ُ ِ َ َ ََ َ ِ ُ َ ِ َ ََ َ
wa amarta bilma`rofi wa nahayta `ani almunkari
And you enjoined the right, and you forbade the wrong

،‫ﺪ ّ َو َك‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ت‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﺎﻫ‬‫ﺟ‬‫و‬ ، ‫ﻚ‬‫ﻳ‬
ُ َ َ َ َ َ َ َِ َِ َ ِ ُ َ
wa ruziita biwal-idayka wa jahadta `aduwka
And you were deprived of your parents, and you strove against your enemies.

‫ و َﺗﺮ ّدُ اﻟﺠﻮاب‬،‫اﻟ�ﻼم‬ ‫ﻊ‬ ‫ﻤ‬ ْ � ‫وأ ْﺷﻬﺪ أﻧﻚ‬

‫ﺴ‬
َ ََ ُ َ َ َ ُ َ َ َ َّ َ ُ َ َ َ
wa ash-hadu annaka tasma`u alkalama wa taruddu aljawaba
And I testify that you can now hear the speech, and you can reply back,

ُ‫ﻴ� ُ َو َﻧ ِﺠﻴﺒُﻪ‬
ُ ‫ﺧ ِﻠ‬
َ ‫اﷲِ َو‬
ّ ‫ﻴﺐ‬ ‫وأﻧﻚ ﺣﺒ‬
ُ ِ َ َ َّ َ َ
wa annaka habibu allahi wa khaliluhu wa najibuhu
And you are verily the beloved of Allah and His intimate friend and selected servant
،‫وﺻ ِﻔ ّﻴُﻪ ُو ْاﺑﻦ ﺻ ِﻔ ِ ّﻴ ِﻪ‬
َ ُ َ َ َ
wa safiyyuhu wabnu safiyyihi
And His elite and the son of His elite.
‫ﻳﺎ ﻣ ْﻮﻻي و ْاﺑﻦ ﻣ ْﻮﻻي‬
َ َ َ َ َ َ َ
ya mawlaiya wabna mawlaiya
O my Moula and the son of my Moula:
ً ْ ْ‫ز‬
‫ﻚ ﻣﺸﺘﺎﻗﺎ‬ ‫ﺗ‬ ‫ر‬
َ ُ َ ُ ُ
zurtuka mushtaqan
I am performing ziarat of you, because of my closeness to you,
ً ْ ‫ﻓﻜ‬
،‫اﷲِ ﻳﺎ ﺳ ِ ّﻴ ِﺪي‬
ّ �َ ‫إ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ ِ� َﺷ ِﻔﻴﻌﺎ‬ ُ َ
َ َ
fakun li shafi`an ila allahi ya sayyidi
So, my master: intercede for me before Allah,
ْ ْ
،َ‫اﷲِ ِﺑﺠ ِّﺪ َك ﺳ ِ ّﻴ ِﺪ اﻟﻨّ َ ِﺒ ِ ّﻴﲔ‬ �َ ‫إ‬ ‫ﻊ‬ ‫ﻔ‬
ِ ‫ﺸ‬َ �‫َوأَﺳ‬
َ َ ّ ُِ
wa astashfi`u ila allahi bijaddka sayyidi alnnabiyyina
And I also seek the intercession of your grandfather, the Master of the Prophets, before Allah,
،َ‫ﻴﻚ ﺳ ِ ّﻴ ِﺪ اﻟﻮ ِﺻ ِ ّﻴﲔ‬ ‫وﺑﺄﺑ‬
َ َ َ َِ ِ َ
wa bi-abika sayyidi alwasiyyina
And I seek the intercession of your father, the Master of the Successors,
،‫ﲔ‬
َ ‫اﻟﻌﺎﻟَ ِﻤ‬ ‫وﺑﺄﻣﻚ ﻓﺎﻃﻤﺔ ﺳﻴﺪة �ﺴﺎء‬
َ ِ َ ِ ِ َ ّ ِ َ َ َ ِ َ َ ِّ ُ ِ َ
wa bi’ummka fatimata sayyidati nisa‘i al`alamina
And I seek the intercession of your mother, Syedatul Nisa al Alameen

،‫ﻴﻚ‬ ّ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫أﻻ ﻟﻌ‬

ala la`ana allahu qatilika
Verily, may Allah curse those who killed you

،‫ﻴﻚ‬ َ ُ ‫اﷲ‬
َ ‫ﻇﺎﻟِ ِﻤ‬ ّ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫وﻟﻌ‬
َ ََ َ
wa la`ana allahu ¨alimika
And may Allah curse those who oppressed you
‫اﻵﺧ ِﺮﻳﻦ‬
ِ ‫ﲔو‬ ِ ‫ﻷ ّ َوﻟ‬
َ ‫ﻴﻚ ِﻣﻦ ا‬‫ﻀ‬ ‫ﻴﻚ وﻣ ْﺒ ِﻐ‬ ‫وﻟﻌﻦ اﷲ ﺳﺎﻟﺒ‬
َ َ َ َ َ ِ ُ َ َ ِِ َُ ّ َ ََ َ
wa la`ana allahu salibika wa mubghizika mina al-awwalina wal-akhirina
And may Allah curse those who deprived you of your right and those who hated you from the
past and the future generations.

َ ِ َ ّ‫ﲔ اﻟﻄ‬
.‫ﺎﻫ ِﺮﻳﻦ‬ َ ‫آ� اﻟﻄّ َ ِ ّﻴ ِﺒ‬
ِ ِ ‫اﷲ ُ َﻋ َ� ﺳ ِ ّﻴ ِﺪ َﻧﺎ ﻣ َﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ و‬
َ ُ َ ّ �َ ّ ‫َو َﺻ‬
wa salla allahu `ala sayyidina muhammadin wa alihi alttayyibina alttahirina
May Allah send blessings upon our master, Muhammad (saw), and upon his Household
(asws)—the immaculate and pure.

You may then kiss the holy tomb and turn towards the tomb of Hazrat Ali (asws) ibn al-Hussain (asws)
in order to visit him. You may say the following there:

،‫ﻚ ﻳﺎ ﻣ ْﻮﻻي و ْاﺑﻦ ﻣ ْﻮﻻي‬

َ ‫اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ‬
َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ ُ َّ
alssalamu `alayka ya mawlaiya wabna mawlaiya
Peace be upon you; O my Moula and the son of my Moula.

َ ‫اﷲ ُ َﻗﺎ ِﺗ ِﻠ‬

،‫ﻴﻚ‬ ّ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﻟﻌ‬
َ ََ
la`ana allahu qatilika
May Allah curse those who killed you.
،‫ﻴﻚ‬ َ ُ ‫اﷲ‬
َ ‫ﻇﺎﻟِ ِﻤ‬ ّ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫وﻟﻌ‬
َ ََ َ
wa la`ana allahu ¨alimika
And may Allah curse those who oppressed you.
،‫� ْﻢ‬ ‫� ْﻢ و ِﺑﻤﺤ ّ َﺒ ِﺘ‬ ‫اﷲِ ِﺑ ِﺰﻳﺎر ِﺗ‬
ّ �َ ‫ب ِإ‬ ‫إ� أﺗﻘﺮ‬
ُ َ َ َ ُ َ َ ُ َّ َ َ َ ّ ِ ِ
inni ataqarrabu ila allahi biziyaratikum wa bimahabbatikum
Verily, I seek nearness to Allah through my performing ziarat of you and showing my love for
you all.

ِ ‫اﷲِ ِﻣﻦ أَﻋ َﺪ‬
ّ �َ ‫َوأَﺑ َﺮأ ُ ِإ‬
wa abra’u ila allahi min a`da’ikum
And I release myself before Allah from your enemies.
ْ
.ُ ‫ﻛﺎﺗُﻪ‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫و‬ ِ ‫اﷲ‬ ُ ‫ﺔ‬
َ َ َ َ ّ َ ‫ﻻي َو َر‬
� ‫ﻚ ﻳﺎ ﻣ ْﻮ‬
َ ‫اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ‬ ‫و‬
َ َ َ َ ُ َّ َ
wa alssalamu `alayka ya mawlaiya wa rahmatu allahi wa barakatuhu
Peace and Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you, O my Moula.
You may then walk to the tombs of the martyrs—pleasure of Allah be upon them—and stop there and

ْ ْ ‫اح اﻟﻤﻨﻴﺨﺔ ﺑﻘ ْﱪ أ� ﻋ‬
say the following:

،‫ﲔ‬ ‫ﺴ‬‫اﻟﺤ‬
ِ َ ُ ّ ِ ‫اﷲ‬ ‫ﺪ‬
ِ ‫ﺒ‬ ِ َ ِ َ ِ ِ َ ِ ِ ‫ﻷ ْرو‬
َ ‫اﻟﺴﻼم َﻋ َ� ا‬
َ ُ َ ُ َّ
alssalamu `ala al-arwahi almunikhati biqabri aby `abdillahi alhusayni
Peace be upon the souls that are residing near the tomb of Abu-`Abdullah al-Hussain (asws)
،‫ا�� َ ِﺲ‬
َّ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﺎﻫ ِﺮﻳﻦ ِﻣ‬
ِ ‫ﻃ‬َ ‫� ْﻢ ﻳﺎ‬
ُ ‫اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ‬
َ َ َ َ ُ َّ
alssalamu `alaykum ya tahirina mina alddanasi
Peace be upon you all; O the purified from filth.
ْ ْ ‫اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋﻠ‬
،‫� ْﻢ ﻳﺎ ﻣﻬ ِﺪ ّﻳُﻮن‬ ‫ﻴ‬ َ َ ُ َّ
َ َ َ ُ
alssalamu `alaykum ya mahdiyyona
Peace be upon you all; O the rightly guided ones.
،ِ‫اﷲ‬
ّ ‫ار‬ ‫� ْﻢ ﻳﺎ أ َ ْﺑﺮ‬
ُ ‫اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ‬
َ َ َ َ ُ َّ
alssalamu `alaykum ya abrara allahi
Peace be upon you al); O the pious ones of Allah.

alssalamu `alaykum wa `ala almala’ikati alhaffina biquborikum ajma`ina
Peace be upon you and upon the angels surrounding all your graves.

‫اﷲ و ِإ ّ َﻳﺎﻛُ ْﻢ ِﰲ ﻣ ْﺴﺘ َﻘ ِﺮ ر� ِﺘ ِﻪ‬ ‫�ﻌﻨﺎ‬
َ َ ّ َ ُ َُ ّ َ ََ َ
jama`ana allahu wa ‘iyyakum fi mustaqarri rahmatihi
May Allah gather us along with you in the center of His mercy,
،‫ﲔ‬ �‫ا‬ِ ‫اﻟﺮ‬ ‫ﻢ‬ ‫ﺣ‬‫ر‬ْ ‫�ﺷﻪ إﻧﻪ أ‬
ِ ْ ‫وﺗ ْﺤﺖ‬
َ ِ َّ ُ َ ُ َ َ ّ ِ ِ َ َ َ َ
wa tahta `arshihi innahu arhamu alrrahimina
And under His Throne. Verily, He is the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

.ُ ‫ﻛﺎﺗُﻪ‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫و‬ ِ ‫اﷲ‬ ‫ﺔ‬ ْ

wa alssalamu `alaykum wa rahmatu allahi wa barakatuhu

Peace and Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you.

You may then walk to the holy mausoleum of al-`Abbas (as), son of Ameerul Momineen (asws), peace be
upon both of them. When you reach there, you may stop at the gate of the dome and say the following:

َ ‫اﻟﻤ َﻘ ّ َﺮ ِﺑ‬
ُ ‫ﻜ ِﺘ ِﻪ‬
َ �‫ﻼ‬
ِ ‫اﷲِ َو َﺳﻼم ُ َﻣ‬
ّ ُ ‫َﺳﻼم‬
salamu allahi wa salamu mala’ikatihi almuqarrabina
Peace of Allah and Peace of His favorite angels,
،‫ﲔ‬ ‫ﻠ‬
ِ ‫ﺳ‬‫ﺮ‬ْ ‫وأ َ ْﻧﺒﻴﺎ� ِﻪ اﻟﻤ‬
َ َ ُ ِ َِ َ
wa anbiya’ihi almursalina
His commissioned prophets,
،‫ﲔ‬
َ ‫اﻟﺼﺎﻟِ ِﺤ‬
َ ّ ‫َو ِﻋ َﺒﺎ ِد ِه‬
wa `ibadihi alssalihina
His righteous servants,
‫ﲔ‬
َ ‫اﻟﺼ ِّﺪﻳ ِﻘ‬
ّ ِ ‫اﻟﺸ َﻬ َﺪا ِء َو‬ ِ �
ُ ّ ‫ﻴﻊ‬ ِ َ ‫َو‬
wa jami`i alshshuhada‘i wal-ssiddiqina
all the martyrs, and all the trustworthy ones
ْ
‫ﺎت ِﻓﻴﻤﺎ َﺗﻐﺘ ِﺪي و َﺗﺮوح‬‫ﺎت اﻟﻄَّﻴﺒ‬
ُ ‫ﻛ َﻴ‬
ِ ‫اﻟﺰا‬
َ ّ ‫َو‬
ُ ُ َ َ َ ُ َ ِّ
wal-zzakiyatu alttayyibatu fima taghtady wa tarohu
and also pure, true blessings that come and go,
ْ ْ ‫ﻋﻠ ْﻴﻚ ﻳ‬
‫ﲔ‬‫ﻨ‬
ِ ‫ﻣ‬
ِ ‫ﺆ‬ ‫اﻟﻤ‬ ‫ﲑ‬
ِ ‫ﻣ‬
ِ َ ‫أ‬ ‫ﻦ‬‫ﺎﺑ‬

`alayka yabna amiri almu´minina
be upon you; son of Ameerul Momineen (asws)
ْ ‫ْﺴﻠ� واﻟﺘ‬ ْ
‫ﻳﻖ واﻟﻮﻓَﺎ ِء‬‫ﺪ‬ِ ‫ﺼ‬ َّ َ ِ َّ ِ َ َ ُ َ َ‫أ‬
ِ �‫ﺎﻟ‬‫ﺑ‬ ‫ﻚ‬‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﻬ‬‫ﺷ‬

ash-hadu laka bilttaslimi wal-ttasdiqi wal-wafa‘i
I testify to you of submission to the will of Allah, honest acceptance as true, loyalty,

the chosen grandson of the Prophet,

wal-ddalili al`alimi
the well knowledgeable guide to the true religion,
، ِ‫اﻟﻤﺒ ِﻠّﻎ‬ ‫واﻟﻮﺻﻲ‬

wal-wasiyyi almuballighi

the conveying successor,
ْ
،‫ﻀ ِﻢ‬
َ َ ُ ِ ُ ‫اﻟﻤ‬
‫ﺘ‬‫ﻬ‬ ‫اﻟﻤ‬ ‫ﻮم‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﻈ‬ ‫و‬

wal-ma¨lomi almuhtazami
and the wrongfully oppressed one.

‫� ْﻢ‬ ْ ‫ﻦ أﻣﲑ اﻟﻤ ْﺆﻣﻨﲔ وﻋﻦ اﻟﺤﺴﻦ واﻟﺤﺴ ْﲔ ﺻﻠﻮات اﷲ ﻋﻠ‬ ْ ْ ‫ﻓﺠﺰاك اﷲ ﻋ‬
ِ َ َ ِ ّ ُ َ َ َ ِ َ ُ َ ِ َ َ ِ َ َ َ ِ ِ ُ ِ ِ َ ‫ﻮ� َو َﻋ‬
ِ ِ ‫ﻦ رﺳ‬

fajazaka allahu `an rasolihi wa `an amiri almu´minina wa `ani alhasani wal-husayni salawatu allahi `alayhim
So, Allah may reward you on behalf of His Messenger (saw), Ameerul Momineen (asws),Imam
Hasan (asws) and Imam Hussain (asws) peace of Allah be upon them,

‫اﺣ�َﺴ ْﺒﺖ وأَﻋﻨﺖ‬ ‫ﺻ‬ ‫ﺎ‬‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫ء‬

afzala aljaza‘i bima sabarta wahtasabta wa a`anta
With the best reward for your steadfastness, dedication to the sake of Allah, and support for the
right party.

ِ �‫ا‬ ‫ﻰ‬‫ﺒ‬ ‫ﻘ‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﻢ‬ ‫ﻌ‬ ‫ﻓﻨ‬

Very excellent be the reward of the eternal life.

Allah’s curse be on those who killed you.

‫ﻦ‬

wa la`ana allahu man jahila haqqaka
And Allah’s curse be on him who ignored your right,
،‫ﻚ‬ ْ ‫اﺳﺘﺨﻒ ﺑ‬ ْ
َ ‫ﺤﺮ َﻣ ِﺘ‬
ُ ِ َ ّ َ َ ‫َو‬
wastakhaffa bihurmatika
And belittled your sanctity.

ِ ‫ﲔ َﻣﺎ ِء اﻟﻔُﺮ‬
،‫ات‬ ‫ﻚ وﺑ‬ ‫ﺎل ﺑ ْﻴ َﻨ‬ ْ ‫وﻟﻌﻦ اﷲ ﻣ‬
‫ﻦﺣ‬
َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َُ ّ َ ََ َ

wa la`ana allahu man hala baynaka wa bayna ma‘i alfurati
And Allah’s curse be on those who stopped you from bringing the water of the River

Euphrates.

،‫ﻚ ﻗ ُ ِﺘﻠﺖ ﻣﻈﻠُﻮﻣﺎ‬
َ َّ َ ُ َ َ‫أ‬
‫ﻧ‬ ‫أ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﻬ‬‫ﺷ‬
َ َ
ash-hadu annaka qutilta ma¨loman
I testify that you were killed while oppressed,
،‫� ْﻢ ﻣﺎ وﻋ َﺪﻛُ ْﻢ‬ ‫ﻟ‬ ٌ ‫وأن اﷲ ﻣﻨْﺠ‬
‫ﺰ‬
َ َ َ ُ َ ِ ُ َ ّ َّ َ َ
wa ann allaha munjizun lakum ma wa`adakum
and that Allah will verily fulfill His promise that He made with you.
‫� ْﻢ‬ ْ ‫ﺎﺑﻦ أﻣﲑ اﻟﻤ ْﺆﻣﻨﲔ واﻓﺪا ًإﻟ‬
‫ﻴ‬ ْ ‫ﺟ ْﺌﺘﻚ ﻳ‬

ُ َِ َ َ ُ ِ َ َ َ ُ ِ
jiituka yabna amiri almu´minina wafidan ilaykum

ْ �‫وﻗ ْﻠﺒﻲ ﻣﺴ ِﻠ ٌﻢ ﻟ‬
Son of Ameerul Momineen (asws): I have come to you to present myself before you.
،‫ﺎﺑ ٌﻊ‬‫ﺗ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﻢ‬
ِ َ َ ُ َ ّ َ ُ ِ َ َ
wa qalby musallimun lakum wa tabi`un
My heart is submissive to you and is following you.
،‫ﺎﺑ ٌﻊ‬ ْ
ِ ‫�ﻢ َﺗ‬ُ َ‫َوأ َ َﻧﺎ ﻟ‬
wa ana lakum tabi`un
And I am your follower.

‫� ْﻢ ﻣﻌ ّ َﺪة‬
ُ َ ‫وﻧ ُ ْﺼﺮ ِ� ﻟ‬

wa nusraty lakum mu`addatun

I am ready to support you

ِ ‫ﻛ‬
ِ ‫ﺎ‬‫اﻟﺤ‬ ‫ﲑ‬ ‫ﺧ‬ ‫ﻮ‬ ‫ﻫ‬

ُ ‫ﺤ‬ ‫ﺣ ّ َﺘﻰ ﻳ‬

 atta yahkuma allahu wa huwa khayru alhakimina
for as long as Allah orders me. He is surely the Best of those who order.

ُ ‫�ﻢ ﻻ َﻣ َﻊ َﻋ‬ُ ‫� ْﻢ ﻣﻌ‬ ‫ﻓَﻤﻌ‬

fama`akum ma`akum la ma`a `aduwwikum
I am verily with you, not with your enemy.
ْ
،‫ﲔ‬ ‫ﻨ‬
ِ ‫ﻣ‬
ِ ‫ﺆ‬ ‫اﻟﻤ‬
ُ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫� ْﻢ ِﻣ‬
ُ ‫ﺎﺑ‬
ِ ‫� ْﻢ و ِﺑ ِﺈﻳ‬ ‫ِإ ِ ّ� ِﺑ‬
َ َ َ َ ُ
inni bikum wa bi’yabikum mina almu´minina
I am one of those who believe in you and believe in your Return.

،‫اﻟ�ﺎﻓِ ِﺮﻳﻦ‬ ‫� ْﻢ ِﻣﻦ‬ ‫� ْﻢ و َﻗﺘ َﻠ‬ ‫ﺧﺎﻟَ َﻔ‬ ْ ‫وﺑﻤ‬

‫ﻦ‬
َ َ َ ُ َ َ ُ َ َ ِ َ
wa biman khalafakum wa qatalakum mina alkafirina
I also am one of those who deny those who opposed and killed you.

ْ ْ ‫ﻗﺘﻞ اﷲ أﻣ ًﺔ ﻗﺘﻠ ْﺘ� ْﻢ ﺑﺎ‬

.‫ﻦ‬
ِ ُ ‫ﻷﻟ‬
‫ﺴ‬ َ ‫ﻷﻳ ِﺪي وا‬
َ ِ ُ َ َ َ َّ ُ ُ ّ َ َ َ
َ
qatala allahu ‘ummatan qatalatkum bil-aydy wal-alsuni
Allah will destroy those who killed you by their hands and those who killed you by their
tongues (by giving orders of killing you.)

You may then enter, throw yourself on the tomb, and say:

‫اﻟﺼﺎﻟِﺢ‬
َ ّ ‫ﺪ‬
ُ ‫ﻚ أ َ ّ ُ�ﺎ اﻟﻌ ْﺒ‬
َ ‫اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ‬

alssalamu `alayka ayyuha al`abdu alssalihu
Peace be upon you; the righteous servant of Allah,

ِ ‫ﻣ‬
ِ ‫ﺆ‬ ‫اﻟﻤ‬
ُ ‫ﲑ‬ ِ ‫ﻷ ِﻣ‬

ِ ‫اﻟﻤﻄﻴﻊ ِﷲ وﻟﺮﺳ‬

almuti`u lillahi wa lirasolihi wa liamiri almu´minina
the obedient to Allah, His Messenger (asws) , Ameerul Momineen (asws)

،‫� ْﻢ وﺳﻠَّﻢ‬ْ ‫واﻟﺤﺴﻦ واﻟﺤﺴ ْﲔ ﺻ ّ َ� اﷲ ﻋﻠ‬

wal-hasani wal-husayni salla allahu `alayhim wa sallama
al-Hasan (asws), and al-Hussain (asws), peace and blessings of Allah be upon them.

‫ﻛﺎﺗ ُ ُﻪ‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫و‬ ِ ‫اﷲ‬ ‫ﺔ‬

Peace be upon You and the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon You

‫ﻧ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﺣ‬‫و‬ ‫ر‬ � ‫ﻋ‬ ‫و‬ ‫ﻪ‬ ‫اﻧ‬ ‫ﻮ‬ ‫ﺿ‬ ‫ر‬‫و‬ ‫ﻪ‬‫ﺗ‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻔ‬‫ﻐ‬
wa maghfiratuhu wa rizwanuhu wa `ala rohika wa badanika
forgiveness, and gratifications be upon you, your soul, and your body.

ْ ْ ‫أ ْﺷﻬﺪ وأ ْﺷﻬﺪ اﷲ أﻧﻚ ﻣﻀ‬

‫ﻀﻰ ِﺑ ِﻪ اﻟﺒﺪ ِر ّﻳُﻮن‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ﺎ‬‫ﻣ‬ � ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﺖ‬ ‫ﻴ‬
َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َّ َ َ ّ ُ ِ ُ َ ُ َ َ

َ َ
ash-hadu wa a’ushhidu allaha annaka mazayta `ala ma maza bihi albadriyyona

I testify, and call Allah to witness, that you abided by the same course that was taken by the
warriors of the battle of Badr
،ِ‫اﷲ‬
ّ ‫ﻴﻞ‬
ِ ‫ون ِﰲ َﺳ ِﺒ‬ ‫واﻟﻤﺠﺎﻫﺪ‬
َ ُ ِ َ ُ َ
wal-mujahidona fi sabili allahi
and those who struggle in the way of Allah
ْ
،‫ا� ِﻪ‬
ِ ‫ﺟ َﻬﺎ ِد أَﻋ َﺪ‬
ِ ‫ﻮن َ� ُ ِﰲ‬ ‫اﻟﻤﻨﺎﺻﺤ‬
َ ُ ِ َ ُ
almunasihona lahu fi jihadi a`da’ihi
who faithfully served Him in the battlefields against His enemies,
ْ ْ
،‫ﺎ� ِﻪ‬
ِ ‫ﻮن ِﰲ ﻧُﺼ َﺮ ِة أَوﻟِ َﻴ‬ ‫اﻟﻤﺒﺎﻟﻐ‬
َ ُ ِ َُ
almubalighona fi nusrati awliya’ihi
did their bests for supporting His Auwliya (friends),
،‫ﺎ� ِﻪ‬ ْ
ِ ‫ﺣ ّ َﺒ‬
ِ َ ‫ﻮن َﻋﻦ أ‬ ‫ا�اﺑ‬
َ ُ ّ َّ
aldhdhabbona `an ahibba’ihi

ْ ْ
and defended His beloved ones.
،‫ وأ َ ْوﻓَﺮ اﻟﺠﺰا ِء‬،‫ وأَﻛﺜَﺮ اﻟﺠﺰا ِء‬،‫ﻀ َﻞ اﻟﺠﺰا ِء‬
َ ‫اﷲ ُأَﻓ‬
ّ ‫اك‬
َ ‫ﺠ َﺰ‬ ‫ﻓ‬
َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ
fajazaka allahu afzala aljaza‘i wa akthara aljaza‘i wa awfara aljaza‘i
May Allah reward you the best, the maximum, the most abundant,

ْ ‫وأ ْوﰱ ﺟﺰاء أﺣﺪ ﻣﻤ‬

،‫ﻦ و َﰱ ِﺑﺒ ْﻴﻌ ِﺘ ِﻪ‬ ِ
َ َ َ َّ ِ ٍ َ َ َ َ َ َ َ
wa awfa jaza‘i ahadin mimmn wa fa bibay`atihi
and the most conclusive reward that He may give to anyone who fulfills his oath of allegiance,
ْ ْ ‫و‬
،ُ‫اﺳﺘﺠﺎب َ� دﻋﻮ َﺗﻪ‬
َ َُ َ َ َ َ

and answers the call of the religion,
.‫ﻻة أ َ ْﻣ ِﺮ ِه‬

wa ata`a wulata amrihi
and obeys his divinely appointed leaders.
ْ ْ ْ
،‫ﻚ َﻗﺪ ﺑﺎﻟَﻐﺖ ِﰲ اﻟﻨّ َ ِﺼﻴﺤ ِﺔ‬ ‫ﻧ‬ ‫أ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﻬ‬‫ﺷ‬ ‫أ‬
َ َ َ َ ُ َ َ
َ ّ َ
ash-hadu annaka qad balaghta fi alnnasihati
I testify that you served the Lord with extreme sincerity
ْ ْ
‫وأَﻋﻄَ ْﻴﺖ َﻏﺎﻳ َﺔ اﻟﻤﺠ ُﻬﻮ ِد‬
َ َ َ َ
wa a`tayta ghaiyata almajhodi
and exerted all your efforts in this regard.
،‫اﻟﺸ َﻬ َﺪا ِء‬
ُ ّ ‫اﷲ ُ ِﰲ‬
ّ ‫ﻚ‬َ َ‫ﻓَ َﺒ َﻌﺜ‬
faba`athaka allahu fi alshshuhada‘i
Allah may attach you to the martyrs,
،‫اﻟﺴﻌ َﺪا ِء‬ ِ
‫اح‬ ‫و‬ ْ ‫وﺟﻌﻞ روﺣﻚ ﻣﻊ أ‬
‫ر‬
َ ُّ َ َ ََ َ َ ُ َ َ َ َ
a ja`ala rohaka ma`a arwahi alssu`ada‘i

ْ
add your soul to the souls of the happy ones,
ْ ْ ‫وأ ْﻋﻄﺎك ﻣ‬

give you the largest abode in His Paradise

wa afzalaha ghurafan

and the most handsome room,

‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﻠ‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫ﰲ‬ ‫ك‬ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻛ‬
wa rafa`a dhikraka fi `illiyyina
and exalt your remembrance in `Illiyyin (the most elevated position),

َ‫اﻟﺼﺎﻟِ ِﺤﲔ‬ ُ ّ ‫ﲔ َو‬

َ ّ ‫اﻟﺸ َﻬ َﺪا ِء َو‬ َ ‫اﻟﺼ ِّﺪﻳ ِﻘ‬ َ ‫� َك َﻣ َﻊ اﻟﻨّ َ ِﺒ ِ ّﻴ‬
ّ ِ ‫ﲔ َو‬ َ ‫وﺣ‬

wa hasharaka ma`a alnnabiyyina wal-ssiddiqina wal-shshuhada‘i wal-ssalihina
join you to the Prophets, the most trustworthy The martyrs, and the righteous ones.

Very excellent is the companionship of such ones.

ash-hadu annaka lam tahin wa lam tankul
I testify that you did not falter and did not turn away,

ْ ‫وأﻧﻚ ﻣﻀ ْﻴﺖ ﻋ� ﺑﺼﲑة ﻣ‬

wa annaka mazayta `ala basiratin min amrika
and that you left this world with full awareness of the truth,

ِ ِ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﺎ‬‫ﺎﻟﺼ‬ ‫ﺑ‬
َّ ِ ‫ﻳﺎ‬‫ﺪ‬ِ ‫ﺘ‬‫ﻘ‬ ‫ﻣ‬

muqtadiyan bilssalihina
following the examples of the righteous ones

،‫ﲔ‬ ‫ﻴ‬
َ ّ ِ ‫ﺒ‬
ِ َ ّ ‫ﻠﻨ‬ِ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫وﻣ ّ َﺘ ِﺒﻌﺎ‬
ُ َ
wa muttbi`an lilnnbiyyina
and followed the Prophets.
‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻨ‬‫ﻴ‬ْ ‫ﻓﺠﻤﻊ اﷲ ﺑ ْﻴﻨﻨﺎ وﺑ‬
َ َ َ َ َ َ َُ ّ َ َ َ َ
fajama`a allahu baynana wa baynaka

ْ
So, Allah may gather us with you,
‫ﺎ� ِﻪ‬ ْ
ِ ‫ﻮ� َوأَوﻟِ َﻴ‬
ِ ِ ‫ﲔ رﺳ‬ ‫وﺑ‬
ُ ََ َ َ
wa bayna rasolihi wa awliya’ihi
His Messenger (saw), and His Auwliya (friends)
ْ
‫ﲔ‬
َ ِ ‫اﻟﻤ‬
‫ﺘ‬
ِ ‫ﺒ‬‫ﺨ‬ ُ ‫ﺎز ِل‬
ِ َ‫ِﰲ َﻣﻨ‬
fi manazili almukhbitina
in the abodes of those who practiced humbly with their Lord.
.‫ﲔ‬ �‫ا‬ِ ‫اﻟﺮ‬ ‫ﻢ‬ ‫ﺣ‬‫ر‬ْ ‫ﻓﺈﻧﻪ أ‬
َ ِ َّ ُ َ َ ُ َّ ِ َ
fa’innahu arhamu alrrahimina
He is certainly the most Merciful of all the merciful ones.

It is expedient to say this form of ziyarah while standing behind the holy tomb and facing the direction of
the qibla, as is also advised by Shaykh al Toosi in his book of ‘Tahdhib al-Ahkam’.

You may then enter, throw yourself on the tomb, and say the following while facing the kiblah direction:

Peace be upon you; O the righteous servant of Allah.

According to the previously mentioned narration, the ziyarah of al-`Abbas (a.s) ends here. But Sayyid Ibn
Tawoos and Shaykh al-Mufid, as well as other scholars, have added the following:

You may then turn to the side of the head and offer a two-Rak`ah prayer. Afterwards, you may offer
prayers as many as you wish. You may also supplicate Almighty Allah earnestly. After these prayers, you
may say the following:

‫آل ﻣﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ‬ ‫ﻟﻠ� ﺻﻞ ﻋ� ﻣﺤﻤﺪ و‬

allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah: please send blessings upon Muhammad (saw) and the Household of Muhammad

and do not leave for me, in this honored place and glorified shrine, any sin that I did without
forgiveness,

wa la hamman illa farrjtahu
any care without relief,

any illness without cure,

wa la khawfan illa amantahu
any fear without protection,

ّ ‫وﻻ َ�ﻼ ً ِإ‬

wa la shamlan illa jama`tahu

any disunity without reunification,
ْ ْ ً
،ُ‫ﺎ�ﺒﺎ ِإﻻّ َﺣ ِﻔﻈﺘﻪ ُوأَد َﻧﻴﺘﻪ‬
ِ ‫َوﻻ َﻏ‬

wa la gha’iban illa hafi¨tahu wa adnaytahu
any absent one without guarding and bringing him to me,
ْ ْ ‫وﻻ ﺣﺎﺟ ًﺔ ﻣ‬
‫اﻵﺧﺮ ِة‬
ِ ‫ا�ُﻧﻴﺎ و‬
ّ ‫ا� ِﺞ‬
ِ ‫ﻦ ﺣﻮ‬ ِ َ َ

wa la hajatan min hawa’iji alddunya wal-akhirati
and any single need, among the many needs of this life as well as the life to come,

ٌ ‫ﻰ و� ﻓِ�ﺎ ﺻ‬
‫ﻼح‬ ً ‫ﻚ ﻓِ�ﺎ ِر َﺿ‬ ‫ﻟ‬
َ َ َ ِ َ َ َ َ
laka fiha rizan wa liya fiha salahun
whose settlement achieves your gratification and my good,

ِ ‫اﻟﺮ‬ ‫ﻢ‬ ‫ﺣ‬‫ر‬ْ ‫ﻻَ ﻗﻀ ْﻴ�ﺎ ﻳﺎ أ‬

illa qazaytaha ya arhama alrrahimina
without settlement. O He Who is the most Merciful of all the merciful ones.

You may then return to the tomb, stop at the side of the legs, and say the following:

ash-hadu laqad nasahta lillahi wa lirasolihi wa li-akhika
I testify that you served Allah, His Messenger (saw), and your brother (asws) sincerely.

fani`ma alakhu almuwasi
You were the most excellent consoling brother.

،‫ﻚ‬ ّ ‫ﻦ‬ ‫ﻓﻠﻌ‬

fala`ana allahu ‘ummatan qatalatka
So, Allah’s curse be on the group who killed you.
ْ ً ‫وﻟﻌﻦ اﷲ أﻣ‬
،‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﺘ‬
َ َ ‫ﻤ‬ ‫ﻠ‬
َ ‫ﻇ‬
َ ‫ﺔ‬ َّ ُ ُ ّ َ َ َ َ
wa la`ana allahu ‘ummatan ¨alamatka
And Allah’s curse be on the group who wronged you.
ْ ْ ْ ‫وﻟﻌﻦ اﷲ أﻣ ًﺔ‬
،‫ﺎرم‬
ِ ‫ﻚ اﻟﻤﺤ‬
َ ‫اﺳﺘﺤ ّﻠَﺖ ِﻣﻨ‬ َّ ُ ُ ّ َ َ َ َ

wa la`ana allahu ‘ummatan astahallat minka almaharima
And Allah’s curse be on the group who violated your sanctities

and infringed the sanctity of Islam.

wal-akhu alddafi`u `an akhihi
and brother who defended his brother,

almujibu ila ta`ati rabbhi

responded to the obedience to his Lord,

ِ ِ َ ِ َ َ ّ َ ِ ُ ُ ‫ﻴﻤﺎ َز ِﻫ َﺪ ِﻓﻴ ِﻪ َﻏ‬
‫ﺰ‬ ‫اﻟﺠ‬ ‫اب‬ ‫ﻮ‬ ‫اﻟﺜ‬ ‫ﻦ‬‫ﻣ‬ ‫ه‬‫ﲑ‬ ‫اﻟﺮاﻏﺐ ﻓ‬
َ ِ ُ ِ َّ
alrraghibu fima zahida fihi ghayruhu mina alththwabi aljazili
and worked desirably for gaining the abundant reward, which others refused,
،‫ﻴﻞ‬
ِ ‫اﻟﺠ ِﻤ‬ ‫واﻟﺜﻨﺎء‬
َ ِ َ َّ َ
wal-ththna‘i aljamili

ْ
and the nice tribute.
.�ِ ‫ﺎت اﻟﻨّ َ ِﻌ‬
ِ َ ّ‫ﺟﻨ‬
َ َ ِ َ َ َ َ ِ ُ ّ َ َ َ ‫َوأَﻟ‬
‫ﻚ ِﰲ‬ �‫ﺎ‬ ‫آﺑ‬ ‫ﺔ‬
ِ ‫ﺟ‬‫ر‬‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﺑ‬ ‫اﷲ‬ ‫ﻚ‬‫ﻘ‬ ‫ﺤ‬
wa alhaqaka allahu bidarajati aba’ika fi jannati alnna`imi
So, Allah may attach you to the rank of your fathers in the gardens of bliss.
،‫ﻚ‬‫اﺑ‬ ‫ﻮ‬ ‫ﺛ‬ ‫ﰲ‬ ً ‫اﻟﻠ� إ� ﺗ� ْﺿﺖ ﻟﺰﻳﺎرة أ ْوﻟﻴﺎ�ﻚ ر ْﻏﺒ‬

allahumma inni ta`arrztu liziyarati awliya’ika raghbatan fi thawabika
O Allah, I have done the pilgrimage to Your Auwliya (friends) out of my desire for winning
your reward
ْ ‫ورﺟﺎء ً ﻟﻤ ْﻐﻔﺮﺗﻚ وﺟﺰﻳﻞ إ‬
،‫ﻚ‬‫ﻧ‬ ‫ﺎ‬‫ﺴ‬ ‫ﺣ‬

wa raja‘an limaghfiratika wa jazili ihsanika
and my wish to recognize You and Your abundant benevolence.

،‫ﺎﻫ ِﺮﻳﻦ‬
ِ َ ّ‫آ� اﻟﻄ‬
ِ ِ ‫ﻚ أَن ﺗُﺼ ِ ّ� َﻋ َ� ﻣ َﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ و‬
َ ُ ‫ﻓَﺄَ ْﺳﺄَﻟ‬

fas’aluka an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa alihi alttahirina
So, I implore to You to send Your blessings to Muhammad (saw) and his immaculate
Household (asws)

wa `ayshy bihim qarran
my living delightful,

wa ziyaraty bihim maqbolatan
my ziarat rewardable,

َ ‫� ْﻢ‬
ِ ِ �‫ﺣ َﻴ ِﺎ‬ ‫و‬
َ َ َ
wa hayaty bihim tayyibatan

and my life pleasant.

ِ ‫ﺮ‬ ‫ﻜ‬ ‫اﻟﻤ‬
َ َ ُ َ َ ‫اج‬ ‫ر‬‫د‬ ‫إ‬

wa adrijny idraja almukramina

ْ ‫اﺟﻌ ْﻠﻨﻲ ﻣﻤ‬

And make me take to the conduct of the honored ones
‫ﻚ‬ �‫ﺎ‬‫ﺒ‬ ‫ﺣ‬ ‫أ‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﺎﻫ‬ ‫ﺸ‬ ‫ﻣ‬ ‫ة‬ ‫ﺎر‬‫ﻳ‬ ‫ز‬ ْ ‫ﻦ ﻳﻨْﻘﻠﺐ ﻣ‬
‫ﻦ‬

‫و‬

waj`alny mimman yanqalibu min ziyarati mashahidi ahibba’ika
and make me one of those who, as returning from the ziarat to the tombs of Your beloved ones,

‫ﻣﻔ ِﻠﺤﺎ ﻣﻨ ِﺠﺤﺎ‬

muflihan munjihan
wins success and prosperity
ْ ْ ‫ﻗﺪ‬

and deserves forgiveness of sins,

ِ ُ ‫اﻟﻌﻴ‬
ُ ‫ﱰ‬ َ ‫َو َﺳ‬
wa satra al`uyobi
and covering up of defects,
ْ
،‫وب‬ ‫ﺮ‬�‫اﻟ‬
ِ ُ ُ ‫ﻒ‬
َ ‫ﻛ‬
‫ﺸ‬ َ ‫َو‬
wa kashfa alkurobi
and relief of disasters

.‫اﻟﺘﻘﻮى وأَﻫ ُﻞ اﻟﻤﻐ ِﻔﺮ ِة‬ ‫ﻞ‬‫ﻫ‬ ‫إﻧﻚ أ‬
َ َ َ َ َّ ُ َ َ َّ ِ
innaka ahlu alttaqwa wa ahlu almaghfirati
You are surely from Ahlul Taqwa (people of piety) and Ahlul Maghfirah (people of
forgiveness).

If you intend to take leave, you may approach the holy tomb and say the following, which has been
reported from Abu-Hamzah al-Thamali, and other scholars have referred to it:

ْ ْ ْ ‫أ ْﺳﺘ‬
‫ﻴﻚ‬‫ﻋ‬ِ ‫ﱰ‬ ‫ﺳ‬ ‫أ‬‫و‬ ‫اﷲ‬ ‫ﻚ‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ‫د‬
ِ ‫ﻮ‬
َ َ َ َ َّ َ ُ َ َ
astawdi`uka allaha wa astar`ika

ْ ‫وأ ْﻗﺮأ ﻋﻠ‬

I seek, through you, the guard and custody of Allah
،‫اﻟﺴﻼم‬ ‫ﻚ‬‫ﻴ‬ ُ َ
َ َّ َ َ َ َ َ
wa aqra’u `alayka alssalama
and I say: Peace be to you.
‫ﺎﺑ ِﻪ‬
ِ ‫ﻜ َﺘ‬
ِ ‫ﻮ� َو ِﺑ‬
ِ ِ ‫ﺎﷲِ و ِﺑﺮﺳ‬‫آﻣﻨﺎ ﺑ‬
ُ َ َ ّ ِ َّ َ
amanna billahi wa birasolihi wa bikitabihi
We have believed in Allah and in His Messenger (saw) and in His Book
ْ ْ
،ِ‫اﷲ‬
ّ ‫ﺎء ِﺑ ِﻪ ِﻣﻦ ِﻋﻨ ِﺪ‬‫وﺑﻤﺎ ﺟ‬
َ َ َ ِ َ
wa bima ja‘a bihi min `indi allahi

ْ
and in that which he conveyed from Allah.
،‫ﺎﻫ ِﺪﻳﻦ‬ ْ
َ ِ ‫اﻟﺸ‬
َ ّ ‫اﻟﻠّ ُ� ّ َﻓَﺎﻛﺘُﺒﻨَﺎ َﻣ َﻊ‬
allahumma faktubna ma`a alshshahidina

ْ ‫ﺠﻌ ْ� آﺧﺮ اﻟﻌ ْﻬﺪ ﻣ‬

ْ ‫ﻦ زﻳﺎر� ﻗ ْﱪ‬
O Allah, record our names with the witnesses.
ْ
‫ﻚ‬
َ ُ َ ِ ِ َ َ ِ َ َ ِ ِ ِ َ َ ِ ُ َ ‫اﻟﻠّ ُ� ّ َﻻ َﺗ‬
ِ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﻮ‬ ‫ﺳ‬‫ر‬ �َ ‫أ‬ ‫ﻦ‬‫اﺑ‬
allahumma la taj`alhu akhira al`ahdi min ziyaraty qabra abni akhy rasolika
O Allah, do not decree this ziarat to the shrine of the son of Your Messenger’s brother mylast
one.
ِ ِ ‫اﷲ ُ َﻋ َﻠ ْﻴ ِﻪ و‬
،�‫آ‬ ّ �َ ّ ‫َﺻ‬
َ
salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi
Peace be upon him (i.e. the Messenger) and upon his Household.

،‫ار ُزﻗ ِﻨﻲ ِزﻳﺎر َﺗﻪ ُ أَﺑﺪا ًﻣﺎ أ َ ْﺑ َﻘ ْﻴﺘ ِﻨﻲ‬ ‫و‬
َ َ َ َ َ َ
warzuqny ziyaratahu abadan ma abqaytani
Grant me opportunities to visit him so long as You keep me alive,
ْ ‫و‬
ْ ‫اﺣ‬
،‫ﺎن‬
ِ َ‫اﻟﺠﻨ‬
ِ ‫ﺎ� ِﻪ ِﰲ‬
ِ ‫آﺑ‬ ‫� ِ� ﻣﻌﻪ ُوﻣﻊ‬ُ
َ ََ َ ََ َ
wahshurny ma`ahu wa ma`a aba’ihi fi aljinani

ْ ‫و� ْف ﺑ ْﻴﻨﻲ وﺑ ْﻴﻨﻪ وﺑ ْﲔ رﺳﻮﻟﻚ وأ‬

and join me to him and his fathers in the gardens of Paradise,
.‫ﻚ‬ �‫ﺎ‬‫ﻴ‬ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫و‬
َ ِ َ َ َ َ ِ ُ َ َ َ َ ُ َ َ َ ِ َ ِّ َ َ
ِ
wa `arrif bayny wa baynahu wa bayna rasolika wa awliya’ika
and introduce me to him, to Your Messenger (saw), and to Your Auwliya (friends).
‫آل ﻣﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ‬ ‫اﻟﻠ� ﺻﻞ ﻋ� ﻣﺤﻤﺪ و‬
َ ُ ِ َ ٍ َّ َ ُ َ َ ِ ّ َ َّ ُ ّ
allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
O Allah, send Your blessings to Muhammad (saw) and the Household of Muhammad (asws)
،‫ﻚ‬
َ ‫ﺎن ِﺑ‬
ِ ‫ﻳﻤ‬ ‫وﺗﻮﻓﻨﻲ ﻋ� اﻹ‬
َ ِ َ َ ِ َّ َ َ َ
wa tawaffany `ala al’imani bika
and take me to you with firm belief in You,
ْ ‫و‬
،‫ﻚ‬
َ ِ‫ﻳﻖ ِﺑ َﺮ ُﺳﻮﻟ‬
ِ ‫اﻟﺘﺼ ِﺪ‬
َّ َ
wal-ttasdiqi birasolika

ْ ْ
and acceptance of Your Messenger (saw),
،‫� ِه‬
ِ ‫ﻷ ِ� ّ َﻤ ِﺔ ِﻣﻦ ُو‬
َ ‫ﺐ وا‬
ٍ ِ ‫ﻃﺎﻟ‬
َ �ِ َ ‫ﻦ أ‬ ‫� ْﺑ‬
ّ ِ ِ ‫ﻻﻳ ِﺔ ﻟِ َﻌ‬ ‫واﻟﻮ‬
َ ِ َ ِ َ
wal-wilayati li`aliyyi bni aby talibin wal-a’immati min wuldihi
and the wilayat of Ali (asws) ibn Abi Talib (as) and the Imams (asws) from his progeny;

،ْ�ِ ‫ﺪ ِ ّو‬ ‫ﻋ‬ ْ ‫واﻟﱪاءة ﻣ‬

‫ﻦ‬
ُ َ ِ َِ َ َ َ
wal-bara‘ati min `aduwwihim
And disavowing their enemy.
ْ
،‫ﻚ‬ ِ ‫ﻟ‬ ‫ﺬ‬ ‫ﺑ‬
ِ � ‫ر‬ ‫ﺎ‬‫ﻳ‬ ‫ﻴﺖ‬‫ﺿ‬ِ ‫ر‬ ‫ﺪ‬ ‫ﻓﺈ� ﻗ‬
َ ِّ َ َ ُ َ َ ِِّ َ
fa’inni qad razitu ya rabby bidhlika
My Lord, I have accepted such.
.‫آل ﻣﺤ ّ َﻤ ٍﺪ‬ ‫وﺻ� اﷲ ﻋ� ﻣﺤﻤﺪ و‬
َ ُ ِ َ ٍ َّ َ ُ َ َ ُ ّ َّ َ َ
wa salla allahu `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
Allah may send blessings to Muhammad (saw) and the Household of Muhammad (asws).
