The DETOUR Interview Round

The Outstanding Students of Iloilo Awards (TOSIA) of JCI Regatta is a search for the holistic students, both in Junior
High School and College, who excel in Academic, Community, Leadership and Faith- four pillars in creating positive
change. It is also a salute to schools for molding their students to be young active citizens.

TOSIA 2018 is divided into several clustered phases:

 The Stopover: TOSIA preparations, media blitz and solicitations

 Starting up the engine: The Road to Excellence – A leadership seminar for students of various schools, colleges
and universities in the City and Province of Iloilo
 The Checkpoint: Nomination and Portfolio screening and evaluation
 The Roadblock & Detour: Interview Rounds and Essay Writing Challenge for the Finalists
 The Pit stop: TOSIA Bootcamp – A servant-leadership training and formation retreat for the awardees
 The Finish Line: Salute to Excellence – Awarding Ceremonies

TOSIA aspirants and their portfolio shall undergo thorough deliberation and evaluation by the screening committee.
From this, selected aspirants will be qualified for the Interview Rounds and Essay Writing Challenge to measure their
integrity and ability in explaining their advocacies.

After the evaluation, the judges who include known advocates representing the four TOSIA Pillars (Academics,
Leadership, Faith, and Community Involvement) shall choose the TOSIA Awardees (12 Junior High School and 10
College) who will advance to the next round and undergo formation programs such as the Boot Camp to prepare
them to become the 2018 The Outstanding Students of Iloilo Awardees.

Among the winners, JCI Regatta will choose the TOSIA Circle of Five for each category. During the Awarding
Ceremonies, the following TOSIA Special Awards will be given to deserving finalists:

 TOSIA Artisan – student who is an exemplar of artistry and creativity

 TOSIA Speaker – student who exudes confidence and wit during the interview.
 TOSIA Worker – student who embodies volunteerism in the community service.
